    Hi Stevecaution,

I’d been thinking along the lines of your previous post and am a big The New One fan. I read NTD’s comments and i’m surprised by them. It was reported in the Racing Post of 26 February 2015 that NTD said “He is 100 per cent. It is a bit nerve-wracking – we have got one week and five days before the race, I would like it to be tomorrow”. The comments reported today are a direct contradiction to what was said last year  I know it was reported that he had spinal complaint after the race but nothing reported prior to the race. If he could recapture the form of a year ago I think he would have a big chance. I just take NTD comments with a pinch of salt.

Benvolio out, reason given due to the drying ground. Going now good / good to soft in places. Weather holding fine and Clerk of the course considering watering.

    Cheers VTC

It’s my annual pilgrimage and I don’t mind the crowds. What I don’t appreciate is racegoers who bring their drinks out onto the viewing areas and spill them all over the place and think its ok. I don’t mind the bit under the stand as it used to be a big bare windy concourse. At least its now enclosed and a punters can have a refreshment and watch racing on the TV’s in warm surroundings. I get your point about some of the sights and that brings an old saying to mind “the things you see when you don’t have a gun” :-). However, as the weather is set to be good there may just be some bonnie lassies to offset the sights previously mentioned!

Enjoy Friday if you make it and be lucky VTC

    Hi VTC,

    Excellent summary.

I’ll be going to the meeting Saturday and it looks a really good card. The weather looks fair for the next 3 days so I think the going will be no worse than good to soft if not good. I was very impressed with Samstown’s win at last years meeting and i’ll be taking him. I’ll be looking for something else that likes the better ground and maybe have 3 running for me, although in recent years the best i have done is a few placed horses.

I also like the look of Sign of A Victory in the Champion Hurdle. Do you have any early fancies on the supporting card?

    Good luck!

I like the look of She’s Got Grit. Course winner with a low weight and has won on the going. That’ll do for me @ 33/1 :good:

Un De Sceaux looks like a machine but we’ve all seen them turned over at Cheltenham before, so for the Arkle i’m chancing 2 pts win on Josses Hill @ 9/1 (Hills) :D

QMCC – I’m going with Sprinter Sacre although i’m very wary of the "bounce" factor, 3/1 with Betway.

Well said Royal Academy, totally agree!!

I would also add that at the end of the day we can all choose to either go with the selection or leave alone. We are all big enough and ugly enough, well I am anyway :D , to make our own decisions. I know I would get a buzz if the horse won but if it lost it would only be me to blame for losing my dough.

As the current stats show 3 winners from 3 selections I would also be happy to find out "The next Big Confident Bet 2014". Keep it coming!

Fair play Roo. Horse now drifting in the betting so not much confidence in the market. Hope you have another tip soon as I could do with a winner

Decided to plump for one I feel has an outside chance at a good price, Charm Spirit. Was third in the big 2yo French race last year staying on but unable to quicken on unsuitably soft ground. Not totally convinced he’ll stay a strong run 1m being out of Invincible Spirit but hope sufficient stamina on dams side. I also like Peslier as a jockey and think i’ll get a good run for my money :)

Good luck and hope we see another Champion!!

    Thanks Nathan,

Perhaps NH should hire Hughsie for a morning session with MTOY  That might just be the making of him!

    Hi Nathan,

Would be interested to read how Richard Hughes settled Canford Cliffs? However, when listening to Mick Fitz on Channel 4 yesterday morning i’m sure he said the hood had the desired effect on the gallops that’s why I suggested a possible change of jockey.

    Hi TAPK,

If he were to go chasing my fear would be that he would not have learned anything and continue to pull and burn himself out. If no change of jockey do you think they should try just letting him bowl along in front to see if he would settle any better?
