Thought it was really boring today. Quickly found myself losing interest, but every time I looked at it Jim McGrath seemed to be laughing to himself about something! The guest test at the end was a complete shambles also.
I thought that Tanya was an embarrassment – her ‘discussions’ with both the big firms reps and the smaller bookies were boring and lacked any depth of questioning.
I used to enjoy Big Mac’s Morning Line interviews at Cheltenham with the Irish lady bookmaker (Helen?). Don’t if she was on at all this year. For me some of the usual excitement in C4’s coverage was missing this year.
I can’t really get enthusiastic about C4’s coverage of Cheltenham this year. The racing is of course great, but I can’t face all the analysis after and have been switching to ATR between races – there was some great banter with Matt Chapman and Jason Weaver today.
Watched the ‘Morning Line’ today – I won’t be rushing to see next 2 days.
Early days yet but so far can’t stand to see GC or listen to him!! I much preferred John Francome, who gave a lot of good outsiders to look at as well as an expert paddock analysis. Mr ‘Timeform’ McGrath still as annoying as ever and don’t start me on Gina Bryce!
Apparently he was "in a bad place" in his career (terrible phrase!!) because Encke had won the Leger with Barzalona on board. Who’s to say that Dettori would have won on him based on some of his rides at that time. Don’t want people in the sport who react like that!!
Oh dear Gina Bryce included and Jim (Timeform can’t be wrong) McGrath. Thank goodness for Sky + will just be watching race in future and none of the prattling before and pointless interviews after!
