Cracking race. Plenty of horses done for speed, Harzand notably taken off his feet. Found must be one the best Filly / Mares of the last 20 years.

Some come on less for the experience perhaps. This does not mean they are less experienced. Think I’ll “crack on” and remain a “rookie” as your answer made little sense!

You have a really condescending way of posting things Steve.

Anyway, congratulations on your excellent season – look forward to reading more about your naps on other forums too.

“It’s ridiculous to think that two horses have the same amount of experience because they have had the same number of runs. That’s a concept that would be a rookies mistake.”

When talking about juveniles, I would deduce two colts having 3 runs each have a similar amount of experience. I’d be delighted to stop making this ridiculous, rookie, mistake. Please elaborate on the error of my ways.

So Westerner only produced his 130 Timeform rating once given the chance to race against top class middle-distance animals. It could easily be the same for the as yet unexposed Order Of St George.

Oh, I agree completely with that and have already said as much. Where my opinion differs is that I don’t believe that Order Of St George possesses as much pace as Westerner- they all look fast running past trees, as the old saying goes- and he’ll have to win the Arc by four or five lengths to surpass Westerner’s 130 rating.

    Only time will tell.

He would perhaps “see where he went” then after all!

Think you are over-praising Westerner more than a bit – used to bash-up similar opposition in the mud in France, but wasn’t really anything but an average Gold Cup winner over here was he? Lucky to keep that race (at York) too after blatant ear-plug cheating when beating Stouties dour stayer Distinction a neck.

RPR’s have Westerner’s best effort only 4lb ahead of OOSG’s currently. Seems reasonable to me. OOSG surely a certainty to be capable of a higher rating of more than 4lb when needing it, cruising home by streets with a mixture of “Impressive”, “Comfortable”, and “Easily” over his last six races. I’d wager he will retire officially a superior stayer than Westerner given chance.

So whilst fit and well during Ascot, Time Test was sat is stable dreaming about the Juddmonte.

Because his owner didn’t sponsor the POW, his owners pet toff was on the board at York, or because his trainer was frightened of a foreign horse. Or all three.

Everyone can’t be Clive Brittain, but its a pretty sorry tale isn’t it?

Order of St. George may not be the likeliest winner, but it would be ridiculous to write him off surely. He has not just been winning, he’s been hacking up, and remains completely unexposed at both Staying and Middle distances.

I certainly would not be offering 50/1 as Mr. Caution suggested his price perhaps should be greater than.

I think when McCoy asked Lydia Hislop how many winners she’d ridden, the coffin lid on his media career should have been shut before he climbed in.

Loving the banter boys. You are all arseholes as far as I am concerned ;)

nwalton – you could be right but I think history will show that she was simply up against two quicker fillies. I would be amazed if Fair Eva ever ran over 6f again and I would be amazed if the two that beat her over 6f would beat her over further.

Think that’s a very bold statement – winner by the same Sire and out of a Rahy mare, and the runner up by War Front out of a Galileo mare. Certainly difficult to argue on paper that the winner is a pure sprinter who win crumble re-opposing the 3rd over another one or two furlongs. I couldn’t see any reason the winner wouldn’t confirm, but its Racing of course.

Regarding Time Test – they were crazy not to go for the POW. Couldn’t understand it all.
