Thanks Kasparov for the heads up
I looked at his thread on Sunday and backed his French Guineas winning tip, The Gurhka. Promising start
Kasparov, out of interest – Who is Joni?
Well done GT. Unlucky with win bets Last Samuri and Vics Canvas but still produced a profit after staking 300+ points.
I had noticed those high place odds Kasparov. Holywell at 7.80/8.00 when win odds are 17.50/18.00. The Last Samuri place = 6.80/7.00 when win odds are 14.00/14.50. Confusing me. Thought possibly down to weight of money from once a year punters but nort sure
Fantastic read GT, cheers
Thanks for that GT. I was more than happy to trade out on Outlander before the race @ 2.12. Look forward to see what you put up for tomorrow’s Irish National, particularily if one of Gordon Elliott’s. GL
Hi GT – Just wondering if you were putting anything up at Fairyhouse today. I strongly fancied Outlander @ 2.40+ in the Ryanair Gold Cup, 4.15, in what appears to be a 2 horse race after the two non runners (famous last words) but am worried of a steamer in Vedettariat. Already backed in today from 25/1+ to 16/1. There was over £9k trying to back on Betfair at 17.50 and 18.00. Any views?
Thanks for the advance notice GT
Cheers GT – They must have been bowled over at the 9/2. Yanworth was mighty impressive today. Seems that the VC 9/2 only lasted a minute or so then into 7/2 at @ 3.12pm then into 5/2 @ 4.01pm. See link below
Found this by clicking on horses name on oddschecker – quite a useful function.
Hi GT – Surely that Yanworth bet was surely before todays race. Odds now 3/1 best price. VC are 5/2.

Hi GT – what sort of lay stake would you recommend based on your figures?
Wasn’t me who asked the question but happy to try to answer it. If you have 5 horses in an ew acca then that will cost you two unit stakes – the win and the place parts of the bet. Alternatively you could place 5 x ew fourtimers (ABCD ABCE ABDE ACDE BCDE). This will cost you 10 unit stakes – 5 win 4timers and 5 place 4timers. This gives you some insurance if one horse does not win or placed. Also you could place 10 ew trebles (20 unit stakes) and/or doubles (20 unit stakes) with your 5 selections giving you added insurance if you only get 2 or 3 winners or placed. But large number of bets often result in long term losses as these are usually bets that bookies love to take as they make huge profit margins on them unless like GT you have a really good edge and you can find a string of selections that you feel are all overpriced and in your favour. Hi GT – Is the second bet supposed to be for the place market?
That’s great thanks
