as for any race of mccoys or fallons, i’ll never include anything they have done as i regard them both as conmen and cheats and thieves.

On what basis is it suitable for folks to defame McCoy in this manner on a public forum? Disgraceful!

you serious? what’s so disgraceful about it? you are obviously shy of listening to the truth, not so me. i tell it as it is and any consequences i’m big enough and powerful enough to face them without fear. that’s not a joke. you suffer from apathy, i don’t. if i see wrongs being done i say my piece. you don’t,end of story.

I’m not a fan of McCoy, in fact I tend to avoid horses he rides and I was one of thoseappauled at the decision to put him up on Denman but I’d never question his honesty. His ability? Yes, His judgement? Yes, on more than one occasion but I’ve never heard his integrity questioned before, On what grounds do you base your opinion?

i know when a jock is trying or not. he (or she)can do so many things to try and make it appear as though they are doing their damnest to win a race when all the time they are cheating. it’s easy to do so. a mis-timed run. boxing it in (which goes on more than you realise). a jock can push his arms like a pair of pistons and it would seem that he’s really trying to urge his mount on but he’s going nowhere fast. and let’s not just blame the jocks, the trainers are the ones that give the instructions, the jocks merely follow their orders. horses running below/above their distance.on ground unsuitable for it. only half fit. i could go on but won’t. i just believe that pipe and mccoy are repeat offenders, more so than any other nh trainer/jockey. yeah pal, they’re all at it in some way. are you saying this is a straight sport? surely not?! :o

    Many would say

    exactly

the same of Kieren Fallon, Kevvo.

piggott never done a fraction of taking the piss outta the public that fallon did and does. remember the race when he was so far in fron that the horse could have stopped for a crap and still won? and what did fallon do, he dropped his hands and let the other horse win. he’s a rogue that deserves to be kidnapped and beaten to death with a rolled up copy of the sporting life.

hi mate. the best ride ever? my vote goes to the one and only LESTER PIGGOTT on ROYAL ACADEMY in the 1990 breeders cup mile. i watch this over and over because i know i’ll never see the likes of this finish again. nobody but lester would or could have won this race on ROYAL ACADEMY. he hadn’t been outta jail very long when he won this (along with the guineas on rodrigo dt,another great race). as for any race of mccoys or fallons, i’ll never include anything they have done as i regard them both as conmen and cheats and thieves. fallon should have been banned from racing for life years ago. that’s another topic though and i digress.

I’m a huge admirer of the long fellow, although I’d put forward his ride on Teenoso in the King George as a better ride than that on Royal Academy in the BC. There’s a certain irony, however, in someone holding up Lester Piggott as a paragon while denouncing Tony McCoy as a conman, cheat and thief. Someone with a longer memory that me may also be able to put some meat on the bones of a NOTW story some years ago revealing taped conversations of Piggott placing bets against himself winning in the 70’s. I believe Green God was one of the horses involved.

so the pig made a bet against himself winning a race? so? piggott didn’t win on everything he rode you know rory! and therefore i can see no wrong in him taking a few grand of the bookies for having the knowledge that the horse wasn’t good enough to win. sure, lester gave loads of ponies easy rides,on the instuctions of the trainers, but when it came to the big time, the classics and big money races overseas, there was nobody in the world to have on your horses back than the king.

Move on quickly, Kevvo, before the moderators get their red pencils and little black books out.

I’m disappointed to hear that you consider Richard Hannon arrogant Kevvo. I met him by chance on Challow Hurdle day when he was struggling to convince the group he was with that he’d once trained the winner of the race. He started to talk to me on the assumption that I knew Geoff Howard-Spink, who owned said horse, but when I explained that I’d simply left my anorak at home, he was happy to continue the discussion and after the race, offered to shake my hand with a courteous "I’m Richard Hannon by the way, it was a pleasure talking to you." I thought that was a particularly nice, if old-fashioned touch.

ha! oh yeah, now i’m gonna be up front (as i always am and will be) about hannon. he’s cost me a small fortune these past few months. there ha been one race in particular where hughes deliberately times his run wrong and finished second on the one i was on. i can (and do) spot these things when they happen. if you think this is sour grapes then you may well be right! but the grapes belong to hannon and hughes, not me.they own the vineyards.
but of course i accept that not all will agree with me,that’s their right, just as long as people remember it’s my right to criticise if i think there’s something not quite kosher going on!

Glad to hear it Kevvo – also delighted to hear you’re a fan of Mr Vasey, who I hear is one of racing’s nice guys. Pity he didn’t keep hold of Rasaman.

rasaman? what’s the script on this?

and i never used any swear words in my post on fallon. i was the one that typed the words (expletive) a few times just to add some weight to my feelings on fallon the fraudster.

Hi kevvo – would you agree that the telling of white lies is the beginning of the route from nice guy to "wrong ‘un"? The act of kidding yourself that you’ve done nothing wrong before you start kidding everyone else? I’d be inclined to agree myself.

On that point, I’d hope the tiny, insignificant, meaningless little lie you told about using the word (expletive) in your post isn’t the start of something bigger. ;)

    Call me Mrs Marple.

lol again! of course i swore like chubby brown in my fallon text! the idea i had actually used the word (expletive) was (to me) utterly laughable!!! i didn’t truly expect ANYONE to believe i was serious….but i was wrong…..YOU DID! when you get to know me (and my posts) better you’ll find this is par for the court. a little joke here and there helps ease any tension i or anyone else feels. i used some real ripe anglo saxon words in my fallon text……and i’m (expletive) proud of it mate! :P

and you want me to call you …..MRS MARPLE?! well really rory, maybe you wearing twin sets and pearls turns you on, but i’m honestly not interested in that kind of thing! my wifes a REAL woman!!! :D

    Nine years ago

    I don’t know about nice
some gave him a bad press
    but plans certainly came together
    for Scudamore and his pipe.
    It was a rare pleasure
to see if anyone could peg them

The multitude of screens enable Pipe to keep one eye on a claiming race at Auteuil for three-year-old fillies, and another on the 2.30 at Lingfield, where he has a runner, Polar Star….

He is, moreover, the very embodiment of cheery, chuckly Somerset bonhomie, at least on the day I meet him…

"Bookmaking taught me all about probability," he says. "And that’s what racing is about, probability. It also gave me a knowledge of horses and courses. You’ve got to know your horses. There’s no point in a horse being 1,000 per cent fit if he’s only able to win a seller and you enter him for the Derby. Also, I was in charge of the money, in the days when there were no photo machines. So I had to devise systems to manage everything. That taught me how to handle paperwork, and it taught me the importance of keeping records. Now, I keep records of everything. I have 100 horses here, and 50 in the other yard, and their temperatures are taken twice a day. I get a written report about every horse, every day. By 7.30 in the morning I know every horse’s temperature, whether it’s eaten up, whether it has a runny nose or a wet nose…"

oh boy! i wish i had the same kind of faith in pipe and scud as you have gamble! they never once done me a good turn as trainer and jockey. i three times had hefty bets on so-called ‘certs’.one was 11/4 ON and it fell at the fourth fence. the other two were odds on also and both were second. i never backed them again after that. i put the son, david,in the same class as his dad, (NOT GOOD!) but maybe they were kinder to you than me!

seepigeon, is that the best you can do? are you so pedantic and stupid as to mention me hitting the ‘e’ key instead of the ‘a’ key? are you serious? you really must be petty in all aspects of your life to be so ridiculous as to bring up such trivia as a typing error! oh well, if that’s what floats your boat pal…..
