Not much doing on Saturday, was a good race to watch though.

Just the two for today, haven’t been able to get onto the site this morning for some reason? Not sure if you’re having issues.

    2:10 Kempton – Mayfair Music 10/1 – 18 points each way
    2:45 Kempton – Real Milan 6/1 – 31 points win

    67 staked.

    Hmm.

    12:50 Closing Ceremony 8/1 – 40 points win + 25 points each way
    2:40 Drumshambo 8/1 – 25 points each way
    3:15 Grandad’s Horse 9/1 – 13 points each way

a couple early one’s for Saturday..

Menorah 9/1 – 21 points each way (NRMB William Hill)
Cue Card 10/3 – 54 points win (NRMB William Hill)

    262 points staked.

Grandad’s Horse! Drifted to 10/1 before a great ride from Fehily!

Another 171.6 points returned, and Drumshambo finished 3rd returning 45 points (loss of 5 points).

    Points staked 332
    Points returned 866.6
    Points profit 534.6

A win for Ascendent over at Wolves would mean over a 1000pts return for the day. I was due a winning day, and am delighted with how it’s come along.

    1st

    2:40 Drumshambo 8/1 – 25 points each way
    3:15 Grandad’s Horse 9/1 – 13 points each way

a couple early one’s for Saturday..

Cue Card 10/3 – 54 points win (NRMB William Hill)

    262 points staked.

Closing Ceremony with a GAME performance! 650 points returned from the first race means I can sit back and relax. Anything from now is indeed a huge bonus.

    14:05 Wilberdragon 11/1 – 12 points each way

    316 staked.

I doubt many punters will clock onto this, but Ascendant is 33/1 for the 5:15 at the minute. I think this is pretty generous from the bookmakers, considering it’s form.

Has been hurdling but before that was a useful performer more predominantly on the AW, running well in better races than this and even winning one, off of 10lb higher than today. Danny Brock takes off a further 3lb, and the visor is reapplied after hurdling without it. Don’t think this a particularly strong race, and feel 33/1 is too big to ignore.

    Ascendant 33/1 – 8 points each way.

    332 points staked.

Great stuff, I look forward to seeing how this pans out.

I always find it tough in those particular races, there is definitely money to be made on the whole in lower graded races, but I tend to stick with C3 and above as that’s where most of my money has been made over the years.

    Hennessey Cognac Gold Cup, Newbury
    30 points @ 10/1 (L) Smad Place* (min 8/1)
    25 points @ 16/1 (L) The Druids Nephew* (min 12/1)

Ok. Forgive my stupidity: what does (L) mean?[/quo

Anyway. Did it. TDN suddenly shortened a bit. I thought: is ginger’s advice changing the market???

That’s the bookies he’s gone with mate, in this case it’s Ladbrokes.

Those prices are pretty much available across the board at this moment though.

Just two more selections today that have caught my eye.

    Kempton 4:10 – Arctic Lynx 14/1 – 14 points each way
    Kempton 4:10 – Dazza 16/1 – 10 points each way

These two are overpriced in my opinion, and should go well.

It’s getting harder to get these selections up before the value (if I’ve found any) depreciates, so the prices I quote are rarely accurate at the time of posting.

    Here are today’s bets anyway.

    12:30 – Vivant Poeme 6/1 – 40 points

    6th @ 5/1

    12:40 – Hughesie 12/1 – 17 points

    3rd @ 14/1

2:05 – Master of the Hall 18/1 – 14 points *Massive gamble on this one, is up against it but is not without a chance and 18/1 looks far too big for me.

    1st @ 25/1

    2:25 – Handazan 8/1 – 35 points *is now 7/2, and N/R in race will occur Rule 4. 3rd @ 9/2

    106 points staked.

Handazan and Hughesie would have provided decent returns each-way, adding to my continuing ‘on the fence’ thoughts on that style of betting.

In the meantime, 2 winners in 2 days? Crikey, must be something in the water over in Stoke, I should work here more often.

    364 points returned.
    258 points profit.

    Robbie 6/1 – 27 points

Nice wee return el. I had planned to bet him, then work got in the way. When I seen he won at 9’s, I was less than impressed :x

I know aye, some solace to the fact that I’ve hit about 1 winner in 30000 since starting this thread!

I’m seriously considering starting to bet each way, as the P/L would look so much prettier.

    Also,

    14:05 – Henryville 2/1 – 40 points

I will keep the faith, this cannot go on much longer surely.

    2:15 Wexford – Hell Cat Maggie 2/1 – 45 points
    2:50 Doncaster – Robbie 6/1 – 27 points
    3:00 Fakenham – Cash for Steel 9/2 – 35 points

Finally in the black for a day.

    107 points staked.
    270 points returned.

    Profit – 163 points.

I will work out the accumulative total some point this week.

Yet more woes with a 3rd place for Politico.

Deep Trouble out to 3/1 in the next at Leicester – 55 points.

    3rd again, sigh.

I knew this would happen, start a thread on a forum and it all goes to pot. Perhaps it’s some sort of subconscious pressure.

Anyway, the 5:10 at Wolves will be my last of the day.

    Fantasy Gladiator 6/1 – 65 points win

Connections reckon he is primed for this race, and I can see why. Down to a handy mark and I’m expecting a much shorter price come race time.
