Any teenage boys worth their salt would be watching Hollyoaks, Ian, I think.
Hi John
I much prefer the horses although I would prefer them even more if they were profitable. I’ve gotten a little bored with the football over the last couple of years. Bunch of overpaid whingers and moaners (I mean, what is Rio Ferdinand going to do with the extra £10K a week he was looking for. Surely £110K a week is enough for any man).
Also, the game has turned very cynical the last while, even in England since the influx of foreign players. I’d love to see some of them riding a 3m class F Hcp Ch at Fontwell on a cold December day. That’d give em something to moan about (and roll around the ground after a fall).
Just really looking for something else to lose my money on. And this way I get 90 mins to hope for a turnaround in the result instead of the usual 90 secs on a 7f Sprint Hcp.
I have never seen even one episode of any of those programmes. Showing my age I reckon.
The section is actually called "Systems Workshop" – there is no reference to horses in the title. Anyway It is obvious from the topic title what the thread is about so don’t reply or even read it if you don’t want to. And I don’t think that one single thread among 30 on the first page of this section constitutes "pushing football into anyone’s face".
However, if most forumites prefer to all football topics to be in the football section, then I have no problem with that, you whingeing shower of !*&$@::biggrin:
Hi Rich
I have .pdf format "view all races" racecards for virtually all flat race meetings in the UK from 30th April til 19th June this year if you want them. PM me your e-mail address and I will forward them to you. Also they are Acrobat version 7 files so you’ll need the latest version to view them.
Meshaheer, I was thinking more Fairyhouse than Exeter.;)
Haven’t met any, as far as I know. Most of my mates aren’t into racing so I’m fairly sure they’re not members. Might pop over if a gettogether was arranged. I have some great tales of huge gambles which weren’t landed which my wife is sick of listening to so fresh ears are always welcome.
or the reverse being he may grow another one
Keep the head up Systemite. The very nature of the system means that you may endure long losing runs so don’t worry about it. Your record since February is excellent so a blip every now and then is to be expected.
At least it’s not as bad as my system for June which I posted on the forum. 13 consecutive losers and then 2 winners from 3 bets followed by another 13 consecutive losers!
Ian, I think that the "wheely thing" you are referring to is called an opisometer but I have been known to be wrong on occasion.
Got a weekend job with my brother when I was 14 and he was 13 sorting the empty bottles in a local nightclub. The work was during the day and it was miserable. It was in early January and there was frost on the bottles when we went in in the morning and it was freezing cold out in the yard. Also, I have a fear of dogs (wish it was horses:biggrin: ) and they had a doberman which used to roam around the yard glaring at me. Stuck it out for 3 weeks and then we jacked it in. We were paid the princely sum of IR£10 per day each which, contrary to popular opinion, was NOT a lot of money in "those days". Got my own back a la Count of Monte Cristo by puking in the nightclub some 5/6 years later, although the bouncers didn’t really entertain my notions of revenge!
The ladies may be a little insulted if they are told that they need to lose more weight!
Seriously though, it may raise a few objections from the usual elements calling it patronising, but if it was to give more riding opportunities to the fairer sex in the saddle, then I’m all for it and I’m sure the lady jockeys will be too.
Have to agree that I was very impressed with Ken Livingstone’s speech. I saw it live as it was during lunchtime yesterday.
That’s 8 winners on the trot Paul which is tremendous. Keep up the good work. If this keeps up none of us will need to go to work any more.
