10 lengths that’s horsesh@t I don’t rate Gary crispe as that great a judge. He’s the bloke who rated sunline above northerly despite getting beat 3 times carrying less weight each time.

Hay list is comparable to Choisir or possibly slightly better than him, BC ain’t 10 lengths better than Hay List.

At both their peaks Sunline would have beaten Northerley, he got her late. I suppose he was one of those horses, you either loved him or hated him.

Hay List is lengths better than Choisir, he was a good horse, but not the best horse to have campaigned in the UK coming from Oz. I reckon Miss Andretti would be personally.

Im not fully familiar with Bated Breaths form, but has he just won the one listed race?

She has won an 800m barrier trial on heavy 10 (heaviest rating in Aus) in 47.75…pretty slick considering.

From an article in Aus this morning…

"It does look as if there is going to be more rain at Ascot next week and I asked Tony Hayden, Peter Moody’s assistant, whether he was worried about the ground and he reminded me about that barrier trial," Clark said.

"He said she looked to love testing ground that day and, if that’s the case, it won’t really matter at all."

Another to throw support behind Black caviar was Gary Crispe, head of racing’s form experts Timeform.

The Ascot track is currently rated soft – heavy in places – but Crispe thinks class will prevail.

"My feeling is that it (the track) will be fine for her, but in terms of the races which she has won, it’s uncharted territory," he said.

"I’ve seen all of the Australian sprinters who have come over to win at the meeting in recent years and she’s

    at least 10 lengths

better than any of those. I’ve no doubt she deserves to be the sort of price that she is."

I’ve got little or no experience of watching her races other than the current footage that is doing the news rounds, but of the races I have seen she hasn’t looked to be off the bridal once. It is sometimes the case that a horse with its chin on its chest finds literally nothing extra if challenged and fully let down by its jockey. Has she ever had to race in her career?

…that’s just an honest question BTW. I’m in no way meaning to sound disrespectful to what is clearly an extraordinary race horse. (Please god let her race at Newmarket!)

Probably 2 races come to mind, the first early on in her career when she stumbled and almost fell at the start, injured herself (and was spelled for 6 mths), but still won by a length.

The second was this years Lightning stakes when she dropped back from 7f to 5f within a week. You should do yourself a favor and YouTube it. Hay List, who during any other era would be the best sprinter in the world really made her work (well maybe for about 50m), but she still coasted to the line…the extraordinary thing…they ran 55.4 for the 1000m and she reeled of a 9.9sec split for the furlong between the 600m and the 400m!

What makes Black Caviar an incredible racehorse though, and what elevates her into a group of horses that make up the best to have ever raced in this country, was her ability to break Hay List at the 200m and then actually quicken off that sizzling tempo.

Look im getting a bit heated back here in oz, mainly because its getting cold (15 degrees), and all the fun is going to be had over in the UK at the end of June.

I have seen her run 5 times in the flesh and it gets better each time. For those that go to ascot, go and have a glimpse of her in the yard and marvel in the size of her, the hind quarters are extraodinary.

Anyone want to sponsor my trip over there? Flights accom? Any help greatly appreciated.

Greek bail out = Black Caviar/Frankel double

    …just saying.

Ok…a few things I need to clean up here…

    ".

That is the best handle you can come u with? What about Ortensia winning the sprint race in Dubai a few months ago…very impressively to tell you the truth, and beat horses that will no doubt line up in the Jubilees Stakes. Ortensia didnt get closer than 6 lengthes to BC.

how many Aussie Fillies ever come here?
one i can remember… Miss Andretti??!!

Then there’s the race itself, she might just hate the occassion, the course, the build up,the lot!
I would think 100,000 at Flemington for her 2x Patinack Farm Sprint Wins or the 35,000 in the cauldron of Moonee Valley on Cox Plate day would sufficently prepare her for the race day occasion.

Without sounding like some of those draining aussies on here saying she will win by furlongs, the knockers really need to realise that this horse is the best horse to head out of the country ever! The times, the ease, the embarassing margins to legitimate group 1 sprinters is mind blowing.

My tip, re-mortgage the house, bang it on the Frankel/Caviar double, head to Ascot, enjoy yourself and laugh all the way back to the bank.

    Wish i was there!!!!
