    Cheers for that Charlie.

Would you say that he improved from Newcastle to Cheltenham (Boylesports) or do you think that Afsoun and Straw Bear just under-performed?

    Mike

    The latter imo

    Here Mikky, from Boylesports thread

Katchit win and place lay – looked a promising hurdler, but i think LTO showed he’s not quite up to this standard

Sublimity win lay – i could be wrong, but my thinking is CH fell into his lap and i’mm willing to pay to find out

Katchit is being over – rated because of his wide margin wins as a Novice, but they are 3/4/5 lengths short of what is required here, just like they were short of what was required at Newcastle

I’m not sure Afsoun can win, but i’m fairly confident Katchit can’t and fairly confident he can’t place either, if Afsoun, Macs Joy, Straw Bear , Sublimity run their races

He should have improved from Aintree to Newcastle, he didn’t and thats why he was beaten by battle hardened Al Eile and Harchibald, horses who are probably in the same league as Afsoun, Macs Joy, Straw Bear etc

Er – Afsoun didn’t run in the fighting fifth and never has…

Oops, thanks for correcting my mistake(dunno what made me put Fitghting Fifth)

Change it to Champion Hurdle Trial at Haydock

they won’t all run to their best because they don’t always run to their best

No they don’t, but to think they won’t run near their best in a race they have as their main target is clutching at straws imo

clutching at Straws like Straw Bear or Detroit City last year?

You seem to be saying some horse will not give their running, but Katchit will, what make you think this? when the odds are high that ALL will run near to their best

I’ve thought more about it Charlie, and yep, Katchit still easily and comprehensively beat Afsoun – and Straw Bear (who I believe was your selection for the CH – am I right?)

    Mike

Ok Mikky and no your not right – I think i stated Afsoun is a good horse and has the ability of placing in CH when he don’t throw it away before race . Just like he showed in last years CH, just like he showed in Contenders Hurdle, just like he showed in Ascot Hurdle, just like he showed in Fighting Fifth

You must be forgetting the Boylesports then are you Charlie, when Katchit easily and comprehensively had the likes of Sublimity, Afsoun and Straw Bear well behind.

No offense, but I suggest you think a bit more about this race

How close we’ll go will depend on how well each of SE, Harchibald, Osana and Sublimity run and I don’t believe that they’ll all run to their best which I think they need to do

Don’t know what makes you think those horses won’t run to their best. Also why are you not including last years CH third Afsoun in the list or the other horse that finished ahead of Katchit at Newcastle

Katchit has ALL these horses and possibly a couple more to beat

    CH 2007

Detroit City – the most over rated horse in race and should have been double his price

    CH 2008

Katchit – the most over-rated horse in race and should be double his price

    Is it called Groundhog Day??

With Straw Bear out, Katchit’s task in Kingwell is a lot easier and he will probably win it comfortably

He should be double odds he his for CH though

I can’t remember M Johnson being on Racing World that much, so how you can judge him on those few appearances is a bit baffling to me

You wouldn’t expect Miller, Maven, Willoughby Johnson, Mr Q etc to work for free. So in showing only the US feed, could that not be a cost saving exercise on behalf of RacingUK???
