Hi uksoundz,
Fortunately I am registered with horseracebase anyway so it’s not too much trouble for me to drum up an excel sheet.
I am trying to be true to discretedata’s original method and am indeed using Hrb’s original ratings which are still available.Also,along the thread,somebody suggested that ratings over 10+ were having a lot of success so I am keeping track of those also.As discretedata has suggested,perhaps this idea may be a base for other methods.
It is certainly a refreshing idea and I thank discretedata.

Interesting.After all these years I still incorporate Clive Holts formula into my ratings.Although they only account for about 40% of the overall structure that I use I still think Clives ratings method is the most simple and effective out there.

I hope Discretedata won’t mind if I resurrect this system,I am using HRB old ratings which I understand was the original source.
