Why can low grade Horses run nearly every week But top class horses cant? i hate the argument that it was to soon after a this race And that’s why it lost.

I think we have to except the fact

    camelot

was just the best of a really bad crop.

and being put firmly in his place now its a shame :?

I think you forget the strain that racing puts on horses especially those at 2,3 and 4 still developing. There is huge energy and weight losses and over-running can take it’s toll mentally. Not saying that they should be wrapped up in cotton wool but there certainly is argument for the case that a horse was run too soon after.

Murtagh’s face walking back says it all. We wouldn’t be here only for the horses. RIP Thomas Chippindale

Danny isn’t Willie’s son… Paddy is. His mother Mags and father Tony have total confidence in him. Both small stables with great success for what they have.I think when you have the experience of Ruby on your side why would you turn him down. And then you have Paul and Paddy as well who have been around before Danny got going.

Yep. Sorry you’re right there. Still, fairly inexperienced for the success he’s had. Largely down to the horse’s he’s gotten.

Our Conor looks to be a horse of a different class. Danny has a year to get to know him. By the time Cheltenham comes around next year I’d expect the pair to be right up there for Champion Hurdle glory. Feel sorry for Cooper.

I suppose horses mature at different rates.
It’s harder to go into a barn of foals and pick out the top bunch than it is to go into a barn of two year olds and do the same. When you’re buying a two year old you’re more sure of what you’re buying.

Danny Mullins isn’t a bad rider (season stats 15 wins from 157 rides), but he still lacks experience in big races. He isn’t the person you want riding for you in grade 1’s at this stage of his career and given the small 4-5 runner fields that is typical for the Irish hurdle G1 he is not going to get the type of experience that is needed for the champion hurdle.

Well… If you compare it to Joseph O’ Brien on the flat who, up to the end of last season, had a total of 81 rides. Yet in those 81 rides he managed to win a Derby, Guineas, BC Turf, Queen Elizabeth, Irish Derby etc. I know he’s had machines of horses and has been exposed to a higher concentration of big races but that doesn’t take from the fact that he hasn’t achieved what he has done. Danny hasn’t had the opportunities that Joseph has had but maybe Our Conor is the horse that will crack the nut for him.

In summary before the sale the horse had a favourite’s chance of winning the Champion Hurdle and now he hasn’t got any.

Because the colours on the jockey’s back will be different?

If you like. The yellow in the silks will be the only similarity between the two jocks. Mullins is a complete waste of space. The horse’s career will almost certainly have hit reverse by the time the owner realises his mistake.

Bit harsh. Danny is a young, talented horseman with loads of promise. I wouldn’t write him off.

My first time at the festival and it was well worth the 12 hour journey from the lovely isle of Eirinn.
Highlight would have to be watching Champagne Fever winning the first. One race one winner for me. Got me started for the week.
The atmosphere in Cheltenham was magical and I fell in love with the place. I’m sure I’ll be back plenty more times.
Sprinter Sacre and Hurricane Fly are absolutely amazing specimens however I have to say that The New One is quite the looker too (my pick of the rest) and should have a great future.
