Uncle Mo will likely scratch from the Tampa Bay Derby.
Cross-entered for Saturday in the Tampa Bay Derby
and the Timely Writer at Gulfstream Park.
The intent, as stated by trainer Pletcher,
is to go in the Gulfstream race.
The cross-entry was to keep the options open
just in case the Timely Writer didn’t fill, which it did.

John Sadler holds all the aces with the two top jockeys.
Gladding gets Bejarano. Twirling Candy and Joel Rosario
team up again as favorite. Twirling Candy is an amazing animal.
Bob Baffert is sending out 4 runners, trying for the upset.
The horse I am considering is the Mandella trained Setsuko.
He won’t be a money burner anymore if he wins the big ‘cap.

It’s less than 4 months away, but you know what?
Time means nothing unless you’re in jail.
For those of us who follow this sport, this next 4 months are going to fly by.

For me, the trail starts at Fairgrounds with the Lecomte on 1/22, and then really gets underway with the Holy Bull at Gulfstream on 1/30. 4 weeks later comes the Fountain Of Youth, and a couple weeks later comes the Tampa Bay Derby on 3/12, which is expected to be the 3yo debut of Uncle Mo. Just 2 weeks after that comes the Florida and Loozie Derbies, with the Wood, Santa Anita Derby, and Illinois Derby following in a quick 2 weeks….and a week after that we have the Arky and the Bluegrass.

It may be mid-January, but this next three months are going to fly by.
