Same here, Fist; someone put up two sites last year, one of which worked and I was able to watch the whole evening live..stupidly can’t remember the name of them, and, even more stupidly have booked theatre tickets for that evening, but hope I’ll be back in time for ‘the big one’.[hang on; found something..horsepowerpro.com [simulcast] and http://www.calracing. Not sure which one worked best].
October 24, 2010 at 17:24 #324316CALRacing only shows races from California tracks. I’m almost certain that http://www.espn3.com will be showing the Classic and most of the other BC races live, but I’m not sure if you can get it outside of the USA. This being Zenyatta, some intrepid fan will probably be filming their TV and broadcasting it on justin.tv.
October 24, 2010 at 19:12 #324339Miss Woodford; what can you tell me about a horse called Lisa’s Booby Trap? I’ve been having a tidy up today and found an article about her that I’d saved from August’s Observer. Has she gone on to win more races, do you know?

http://www.equibase.com/premium/eqbHors … registry=T She bombed in an attempt at turf, then went back to Finger Lakes and finished 3rd. I think she might be done for the year.

I checked them out Calgrag asks for a zip code which obviously I don’t have.
The other site didn’t have anything to actually do with racing I could find.
I found where I watched it last year psoted by Wallace I think

Was great fun as you could chat to the host and people from all over the world about the races.
Hope the guy who put it up does so again.

This is very interesting for those looking to have abet.
Zenyatta 3-1
, top 4-year-old
Blame at 4-1
, speedster
Quality Road 5-1
, and
Lookin at Lucky, 6-1
.
He said those odds could change slightly depending on post positions and other entrants into the field for the 1 ¼-mile championship race, but there’s no doubt which runner will take the most action at the windows.
I’ve no idea why Blame 7/1 is so big here as I always thought he’d be the main danger if there is one.
Looking at Lucky looks like either the punters got it wrong or the bookies are extracting the urine here, but Quality Road 9/1 is amost twice the odds seems mega generous.
You’d have to think an American handicapper knows more than the average UK punter and we might just have our odds alittle bit topsy turvy.
October 24, 2010 at 21:01 #324359Blame was the badly beaten favorite in the Jockey Club Gold Cup to the relative unknown Haynesfield. That was the first try at 1 1/4 miles for both of them, and with both of them going on to the Classic it is Haynesfield who seems more comfortable with the distance. QR is at 5-1 because when he has things going his way pace-wise, he is insanely fast. His problem, besides the distance question, is that he has thus far only been insanely fast at Gulfstream. The Whitney proved that he isn’t invincible outside of Gulfstream And of course there’s the question of his fitness after a two month break and whether his starting gate issues will pop up again. Lookin at Lucky has the fewest knocks against him formwise, but this is a heck of an introduction to running against older horses. Zenyatta at 3/1 is a big overlay, the amount of speed in the race works in her favor.
October 27, 2010 at 00:29 #324810For those of us that just can’t get enough Zenyatta news, there is now a blog that chronicles her daily activities between now and the Breeders Cup;
This is today’s posting;
Tuesday’s Zenyatta Report
Here’s today’s Zenyatta report from Southern California (courtesy Breeders’ Cup)….
Two-time champion Zenyatta, preparing to defend her Breeders’ Cup Classic title and perfect 19-0 record, didn’t make life easy on regular exercise rider Steve Willard on Tuesday morning as he had to use all his strength to pull her up after a 1 ½-mile gallop over the Hollywood Park main track.
“That was a good gallop,” said trainer John Shirreffs. “No concerns at this point. Although, I do want to get her on the (dirt) training track again this week and off the synthetics.”
“She did great,” added Willard. “Just terrific. She didn’t want to pull up and said, ‘hey, let’s do some more.’”
Jerry and Ann Moss’ Zenyatta will continue to gallop the remainder of the week and her final timed workout will be Saturday, October 30. She is scheduled to leave California for Kentucky on Tuesday, November 2.November 1, 2010 at 06:51 #325686Don’t know if you get this program in England but 60 minutes is an American news program and this Sunday they did a feature on Zenyatta.
November 3, 2010 at 23:16 #326119November 4, 2010 at 23:59 #326274Great article about Zenyatta and her people.
"David Ingordo, son of the Mosses’ racing manager and Shirreffs’ wife, Dottie Ingordo, saw something. He bought the horse for the Mosses. She cost $60,000. The reports soon came out of the farm: You’ve either got one amazing horse or a lot of really bad ones."
November 6, 2010 at 13:19 #326530I stupidly booked theatre tickets for tonight ages ago, but just want to say that, if I don’t get home in time, at 10.45 tonight every digit will be crossed and every bone in my body will be willing Zenyatta to win [thankfully I’m not doing the driving]. God speed, Zenyatta. Please come home safe and glorious…..
November 9, 2010 at 20:44 #327192Will Zenyatta return for another season?
"They are talking about making a decision by the end of November but I can’t say for sure," said Shirreffs. "Where she’s going is still in discussion." – John Shirreffs

This is sad to see the great mare’s racing career come to an end, especially after her heartbreaking last charge fell just short in a race where I felt she was clearly the best horse. I am consoled that she retired sound and will join Life is Sweet at one of Kentucky’s finest farms, Lanes End.
December 1, 2010 at 23:07 #330776So glad she’s retired in one piece, and not sure if my blood pressure could’ve stood another season. She’s brought so much pleasure to so many people….. can’t believe how emotional I’ve felt for the past couple of years about a horse racing so far away. A long and happy life to her; what a star she’s been.
