July 4, 2008 at 16:19 #171730Do people Never learn when its comes to horse’s winning there 1st race by wide margins??? It happens all the time look at sense of joy last yr plus raven’s pass. soj just scraped home on her next start, ravens pass has been beaten every time he has contested a group 1 race. Yes this horse was impressive but 10/1 FAV FOR THE GUINEAS DONT MAKE ME LAUGH

Lets not get carried away but it was an impressive win although we dont really know what he was up against untill they run again and of course the ground is supposed to be running extremely fast.
July 4, 2008 at 16:45 #171742Nothing at all got into that race, the first 3 occupied those positions throughout, with the rest seemingly not wanting to ruin their nusery marks by finishing too close.
July 4, 2008 at 19:08 #171754lets face it you could not fail to be impressed by zacinto today but we have seen impressive two year old first time winners before lets hope he turns out to be brilliant,he may not even be the best of sir michael stoutes two year olds, and he will be a silly price on his next run anyway.but he looks a nice prospect to look forward to
July 4, 2008 at 19:50 #171756Certainly looked impressive.
If he was aimed for the Racing Post Trophy then he would be more of a Derby horse than a Guineas horse.
July 4, 2008 at 22:37 #171767Looked impressive but was a slow time. I don’t think Sense of Joy is a good example of a similar type – she’s hardly had the opportunity to prove herself [or not] yet.
July 5, 2008 at 12:00 #171822Very impressive but would need to see him in group company before you could get too excited. Odds for the guineas are generally 14-1 and not as silly as Cuis Gaire for the 1000 who is as low as 5-1. His pedigree suggests he is likely to be a miler though his dam is out of Realms of Verse so may get further.
July 5, 2008 at 21:50 #171910Twas an eye catching performance.
I also agree that the hype machine should try and calm itself at this stage.
Silly me backed the 2nd

Zip
July 6, 2008 at 03:18 #171924With the grand-dam being an Oaks winner (but also a Fillies’ Mile winner) I believe Zacinto can run in a 2,000 Guineas and be capable of stepping up to the Derby as well.
Stars aligning, of course.

A word of warning: the dam, Ithaca, hacked up by five lengths on her debut at Goodwood and was immediately vying for favouritism for the Guineas and Oaks. She never won again. We’ve all seen impressive maiden winnes fall by the wayside, so it’s oo early to go overboard, no matter how impressive Zacinto was.
By the way, why’s he with Stoute? I thought that convention dictated that foals went to the trainers of their dams?
