I very much hope Cormac does not mind me asking readers to read the latest post on my blog – a guest piece from David Ashforth.

It’s not for the squeamish (though I found it uplifting) and it has two objectives:

To spread the word in the hope that someone will be saved the anguish David has suffered.

    Raise some funds for Charity

    Here’s a para from it:

Unless something else strikes me down in the meantime, the cancer will eventually spread, and kill me. If, for me, diagnosis turns out to be a death sentence it is a suspended sentence. It is now three years since I was diagnosed and I am feeling well and happy. Finding peace of mind is important. I make a point of seeing friends and enjoying life, and am doing some work for the Prostate Cancer Charity, to raise awareness among followers of racing.

    Thanks
    Joe

No problem Joe, I’m a big admirer of David Ashforth. I met him once at Epsom one Derby Day, at the paddock and he was very congenial during our short conversation. I’ve come to admire him even more through the eloquent pieces he’s written since his diagnosis.
