Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
June 18, 2018 at 03:31 #1357179I too won’t be laying Cracksman in real life.
The race looks poor and he surely should win. I just had a nagging feeling he could be beaten.
June 18, 2018 at 13:53 #1357201Bandua is missing the Royal Meeting altogether it seems.
Hopefully this alternative will actually show up.
In the Jersey Stakes it looks as if there is no standout horse and with Paddy Power offering FIVE places in the bumper field I have homed in on Brother Bear, despite a lack of support for him.
He seemed an in and out sort last season but he got back to something like it when winning last time out. It wasn’t a strong race he won but he had a bit to spare and the Racing Post gave him a figure as good as he has ever recorded.
If you take the runs on yielding and soft ground out of Brother Bear’s form he looks better and it’s probably largely forgotten that he went off favourite for last year’s Coventry. 7F looks to be his trip and at 16/1, I’ll sacrifice a few points on the odds, to obtain the 5th place.
Jersey Stakes Brother Bear 16/1 EW 1/5 odds places 1-2-3-4-5 (Paddy Power)
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

June 19, 2018 at 13:44 #1357327Nap – Torcedor 12/1 (presently 10/1 but in Ante post thread at 12s) Ascot Gold Cup
Lay – Lady Aurelia – King’s Stand
E/W – Washington DC 16/1 – King’s Stand
June 21, 2018 at 16:02 #1357778LAY – Lah Ti Dar in the Ribbersdale. I’m not a layer of horses but for the purpose of the thread she looks short enough at 5/2 best price, still inexperience with just the 2 runs and was more workmanlike lto than expected to be. Missed the Oaks and some interesting horses in opposition. If the going is on the firm side I think Magic Wand could be seen in a better light than last time.
It’s been a rough week so I’m claiming the lay and Magic Wand….
