Imagine working in a betting shop and having to not only deal with a hungover, still drunk, Homer taking forever to make a Horlicks of putting his bets on but – even worse! – pay him out later, by which time he’s got freshly tanked up again!
It’s long odds-on someone was saying: “FML!” on their way home from work that night!
Another Ripping Yarn – love it!

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"September 21, 2022 at 17:17 #1615367I “backed” Bardenstown Lad in the 4.55 at Listowel. If I had a paper ticket, I would have torn it up after the first fence.
Just logged back into my Hills account and there was more money in than I was expecting. I checked my settled bets page and it turns out I had backed Life In The Park instead, the winner at 11/8!
I have no idea how I managed to do that!!

When I was working in the shops the level of drunkenness and hangovers was about equal both sides of the counter.
Luckiest thing I ever did started with me doing my brains on roulette (don’t ask… I’m long past that s***e now thankfully). Anyway the 49s music started playing (the lottery type thing on SIS, I assume most of you are familiar) so I asked my mate if he had a spare quid I could borrow. Got my roulette money back with interest, and a few beers for said mate of course.
God, what a desperate story. All under control these days, booze and punting.
