Gone for an EW recovery job on Natural Scenery @ 33/1

I think quite a few were on her that day and was very unlucky not to win. Five pounds better off now than last year.

Cosmelli has been sold to Australia but it sounds like he’s running once more (either at Deauville or York) before going abroad. His Northumberland Vase performance was extremely good when you consider the pace bias at the track throughout the 3-day meeting. Horses who were prominent enjoyed a massive advantage yet in the Vase the first 2 home were held up. Euchen Glen, who has sadly sustained a tendon injury, franked the form by winning the John Smith’s Cup over a hugely inadequate trip. I would suggest that Cosmelli & Euchen Glen were miles ahead of the rest rather than treating the race as an exception to the bias, since places 3-6 were claimed by more prominent runners.

He is currently 35th on the list for the race, so not guaranteed a run, but his latest effort can definitely be upgraded. Cosmelli is 33/1 with most firms.

GL with Cosmelli TheKryptonFactor. Just to let you know the trainer kept her 50% in him, which you would say is another positive.

Time was also faster than Withold’s race and he carried more weight as well.

Stratum the main fancy here, and had a good look, but missing on a couple of firms books, as well as being a short enough price.

He’d be my main choice just ahead of Dubawi Fifty. He’s available at a generous 33’s, but holding off for now, as he’s missing from a couple of firms lists too.

the three that interest me at the minute are STRATUM but it is fav so that might put me off. MOUNTAIN BELL who looks like he might have a good race in him and has ran in some better races and MY REWARD who if he gets his ground will go well.

Do you think Natural Scenery will get in off her current mark?

Lowest rate last year was 101 Degaussed and Natural Scenery rated 99 so maybe not!!

Currently 44th and only twenty get in !

Very pleased I held off, as Dubai Fifty been scratched.

I’ll definiteky wait until Monday now at the earliest, but around the same position as Cosmelli, is Saunter, and he looks like being my #1 now at 33’s, that looks big to me. Still, no bet yet.

I backed saunter last year in the November Handicap Bobby and I think it needs dig in the ground. If I was you I would hold fire and wait until there is soft in the going description before backing him.

Having said that if there is soft in the going description I will probably back him myself.

    Good Luck :good:

Yeah Raymo, definitely holding fire just now, and forecast isn’t favourable either. I’ll get a look at him today.

Ground concerns aside, happy to make Saunter my first selection after that today. I’ll definitely add at least another with those weather concerns.

    Saunter 33’s Win
    Saunter 25’s EW 5 Places

I do think that Stratum goes here with an outstanding chance (as boring as it sounds) and will go in after final decs. The only one I’m interested in between now and then is Count Octave at 25/1. He’s been running to a very decent standard so far this year and a mark of 105 looks more than fair. He ran well over the maximum distance at the Royal meeting and before then was 5th in the Yorkshire Cup behind Stradivarius and got within 5 lengths of Defoe at Newmarket. He was 6th in last year’s Leger (which is as good a piece of form as anything) and the stable’s ticking along nicely so worth a bet.

    Count Octave 25/1

It’s Whiskey Sour for me again. I’ve been on him a few times in the last year and I’m staying loyal again.

I think the track and big field could suit him.

    Whiskey Sour @ 8/1
