    2.00 Lingfield – Toby Lerone @ 2/1

Convincing winner last time out , putting in a fine effort on what was only his second try over fences , penalty to contend with now but should put in a solid effort and stable bang in form at the moment.

    2.10 Huntingdon – Baile Anrai @ 6/1

Trainer Dan Skelton has had 4 winners from his last 5 runners and the stable is in good form at the moment , on the face of it Baile Anrai looks to have his work cut out for him , having a pretty bad season last term and coming back from a long lay off , however I am hoping that the Skelton yard have him fit and fully wound up for his debut run (left Ian Willaims)for them , and I think he could be worth a small each way to nothing .

    2.30 Lingfield – Masquerade

Could be the first of a Warren Greatrex / Noel Fehily double at the meeting , was second on debut run on fibresand so the all weather won’t phase him , and was a decent 3rd on his return to action last time out at Southwell , should come on for that run and I think he will definatley be involved come the business end i’m hoping he can make it third time lucky.

    3.20 Sedgefield – Riskier @ 3/1

Won his last two races last term and started off this season in great style by hammering his opponents by 9 lengths lto , paid the price for that impressive win by a rise in the weights but I think he’s an improving sort and can shoulder that burden. B Hughes in the saddle again , and its worth noting that he has partnered the horse in every one of his victories to date , and his record when on board reads – PU , 1 , 1 , 3 , 2 , 3 , 1 , 1 , 1 , the horse himself is a C&D winner and seems to like it round here , can be forgiven the F , PU , UR at the very beginning of his career , but after that his record at Sedgefield is fairly impressive , never being out of the top two – 2 , 2 , 1 , 2 , 1 .

    4.05 Lingfield – Hannahs Princess

Won on her debut , demolishing the field by 9 lengths , and the way she won that day she looked as though she could cope with the penalty she carries. Now trained by the shrewd Warren Greatrex , and partnered in the saddle by the very in form Noel Fehily .
Could be worth a forecast ( or a saver on ) with the Nicky Henderson trained

    Playhara

, trainer does well here , was 9th on debut , and the form of that race looks to be working out pretty well with the first 3 home that day all going in on their next outings.

    4.50 Wolverhampton – Interception @ 4/5

Won her maiden in decent style last time out , being eased down by todays jockey Ted Durcan (only ride of the day) , to win by a comfortable looking length and a half. Begins her foray in to the handicapping world on what looks to be a manageable mark and if in the same kind of form as last time will be hard to beat.

Not a brilliant debut , but not too shabby overall , have to say was disappointed with the nap , really thought he’d be there or thereabouts .
    Hopefully better on Wednesday !

    4.10 Exeter – Joanne One

Jamie Snowden has his string in good order at the moment , with his last 3 runners all being victorious , and Joanne One looks a decent prospect and could very well add to those victories. Todays jockey , Brendan Powell , was aboard 2 of those winners , and on his last 5 starts for the trainer his record reads – 2 , PU , 2 , 1 , 1 so the pairing obviously in rude health at the moment. Horse and jockey have teamed up twice to date , resulting in two victories , the last one being a 9 length demolition job in a maiden hurdle at Ffos Las (her hurdling debut) , looking at that victory it was hard not to be impressed by her and she should go very close here despite carrying a peanalty. She won a listed bumper race on only her second start when trained in Ireland by J Kiely , having come 2nd by a length a half to the smart Que Pasa on her racecourse debut. Obviously a smart mare , she is Jamie Snowdens only runner at the meeting and that could be a pointer in itself.

    1.05 Cheltenham – Standing Ovation @ 6/4

Well , who could fail to be anything but impressed by his demolition job in the Badger Ales last week , the 5 timer definatley looks to be on imo , the one slight nagging doubt I do have is will he act on the course as Cheltenham can be a bugger for some horses , but I cant see David Pipe (who has won this race for the last 2 years) entering him if he didn’t think he’d do okay round here and he’s a shrewder man than I !!

    8.45 Dundalk – High Net Worth @ 15/8

Finally came good after filling second spot 4 times in a row , travelled well last time out and there looked as though there was more left in the tank come the finishing line , so the step up in distance shouldn’t pose too much of a problem. Making handicap debut in this and looks on a decent enough mark for a follow up to be on the cards.

    3.15 Cheltenham – Balthazar King @ 2/1

Balthazar King comes into this race in tremendous form , winning both his starts since his re appearance , first over in France and then last time out round Cheltenham . Seems to like this course with form figures round here of – 2 , 2 , F , 4 , 2 , 5 , 1 , 1 , PU , F , 1 , 1 , 2 , 1 … all his wins here have come with Dicky Johnson in the plate so its good to see that he’s in the saddle once again . Came 2nd to Uncle Junior in this race last year ( so we know he can handle the cross country obstacles and as I touched on his course form here is good which I think is important at Cheltenham ) , that rival doesn’t appear to be in any sort of form to be honest so I don’t think he’ll be retaining his crown. I would like to see a bit bigger price to be honest , 7/4 – 2/1 available at time of posting , but then again if he wins they’ll look okay come 3.25ish !!

    2.40 Leicester – Pippa Greene EW @ 8/1

Not been in the best of form of late admittedly but I think there are signs of a revival , maybe ! , down to last winning mark , and re united with A Tinkler whose record on the horse reads – 2 , 2 , 2 , 1 , so could have some sort of affinity with her ! Has won at the course , albeit on the flat , over 1m3f. Admittedly Nicky Henderson hasn’t got his stable in great form at the moment but he has a tremendous strike rate at Leicester , and with him taking just this one to the meeting , could be a pointer in itself.
