The government publish an England only “Index of Multiple Deprevation” I think the latest was in 2019.

The worst place (Neighbourhoods) to live in the list is Jaywick in Essex, the next 8 are in Blackpool and the 10th is Anfield.

In the worst 100 Neighbourhoods, only 5 are south of the Severn/Wash line, Jaywick, Yarmouth, 2 coastal areas in Suffolk, and Planet Thanet.

Blackpool has 17 of the worst 100 and Middlesborough has 3.

Will anything change when the next update is done ?

Worst place to live is next door to Chezza, bins forever full to overflowing with empty biscuit wrappers and an endless succession of Angelas, Philomenas and Charlottes – but thus far no Jennys – coming round to visit at all hours and making the most God-awful racket.
