Dear oh dear, another sore loser talking through large empty pockets
How very dare you.
I haven’t had a bet at Mons since I backed the French Fifth to retreat in 1914. Like finding it in the street.

January 23, 2013 at 18:32 #427257I’ve translated this from the post race report
" At the end of the race, the Commissioners have asked for explanations and jockey Sacha Stappaerts about the performance gelding EASTERN
WARRIOR (GB). The complainant stated that she had a problem with a stirrup. Commissioners have recorded these explanations and decided to transmit the
case to the Disciplinary Committee of the Jockey Club "Surely the JC cannot be satisfied with that ?
So the stirrups were faulty ?, good job the brakes weren’t or she may have won and ‘mon dieu’, le wonga vos not in situ aujord hui.
January 23, 2013 at 19:50 #427262Clearly thought there was still a circuit to go and mis judged it. LOL
January 23, 2013 at 20:43 #427264thats jawdroping stuff really dont know what she was doing for the first half a mile i thought she was strugling with her balance and that she just wasnt a very good jockey but by the end she is blatently stoping the horse maybe she mistook the winning post i dont know what she was thinking
January 23, 2013 at 21:18 #427266Then surely she tells the track stewards that she didn’t ride a finish.
She only told them of stirrup problems. She also bumps the horse a couple of times close to the line

Typical Woman, even when caught with their Pants down they still come out with excuses!!
Poor Sascha only did what she was asked to do by the Trainer, had he missed half a dozen bits of work they might have got away with it but alas the poor gals riding a racing certainty to get beat and incredibly she succeeded no matter how hard the horse tried to win!

You have a horse that has won it’s races by front running or being prominent.
So you put blinkers on it and hold it up out the back
It happens quite often, too. Front runners are suddenly held up for no reason at all and run badly and yet trainers are not asked to explain it.
January 24, 2013 at 15:50 #427312It lacked a certain subtlety, didn’t it, our chaps do it so much better.

What she should have said is the horse needs to learn how to bloody settle………..

January 25, 2013 at 21:25 #427468I knew nothing about Belgian racing until now
About as blatant as the game of pool I lost to my 6 year old nephew the other day
January 25, 2013 at 23:34 #427485That was pretty incredulous stuff. I wonder what the real reason was behind that ride…
Incidentally, I backed Faffa at Wolves…at the time I didn’t think "I was robbed"…but have I been?!

Can’t see how anyone can justify that ride. She was physically pulling the horse back. Even with "stirrup problems", had she let the horse do what it wanted (effectively become a passenger) – it would’ve won!
Should’ve found herself in court on fraud charges. It’s that obvious.
Name of the thread is 100% correct Mike.

Basically, Sacha Stappaerts has had her jockey’s licence and owner-trainer licence suspended by the Belgian Jockey Club and the horse has also been suspended until after an enquiry.
This takes place on 1st February.

January 30, 2013 at 00:23 #427949Do exchanges bet on Belgian racing Mike?
Or was this (allegedly) done for the benefit of Belgian bookmakers?
Do independent bookmakers exist in Belgium? Or is it done through France?
Or did Sacha (allegedly) bet on the winner?Value Is EverythingJanuary 30, 2013 at 09:36 #427960Do exchanges bet on Belgian racing Mike?

Or did Sacha (allegedly) bet on the winner? It’s really a trotting nation with only a couple of flat courses linked to France-Galop’s PMU operation. There are a number of independent betting shops in Belgium (including Ladbrokes) which has quite a laissez-faire attitude to gambling.
God knows if Betfair et al bet on Belgian racing – wouldn’t surprise me though! Not sure if Mlle Sacha had any betting involvement, presumably the enquiry will look into that.
I do remember Extel covered live trotting racing from Sterrebeek over the blower many years ago as a punting medium for betting shops when racing was abandoned. Horses would be disqualified by the stewards in real time for breaking into a run. There were no pictures at that time, so commentaries would go: "No 6 making headway, No 6 into the lead, No 6 pulling clear…
disqualified No 6!!
It didn’t catch on for some reason.
