Time for rupert 20-1 and Lie Forrit 40-1 for me tomorrow, but peddlars cross aside I’m having a howler this festival so probably best staying clear of them.

I’ve gone for BB – obviously(!) – but the other horse I think could do well is War Of Attrition. Certainly e/w, without BB and/or place bet.

That said, what little profit I made (from places and e/ws!) on Tuesday was annihilated today. Grr.

So don't run, just like the others always do

I think War Of Attrition is a good bet also and have fancied him ever since he beat Mourad giving weight away that day and you also had Nineteenth House in there who he beat who ran as we know a cracking race in the Coral Cup last year and also managed the scalp of Solwhit and he was well beaten by WOA.

33/1 seems really big, too big infact.

My affection for that rogue, Tidal Bay, has been well documented on these pages. Big Buck’s the one to beat, but so were Dunguib and Master Minded!

DalryBear, I like that term…’Tidal Bay unleashed’.

To steal a line from Chris Cooper’s character, Tom Smith, in Seabiscuit (a wonderful nod to his role in A Time To Kill)…

I must admit that though not a fan of the Nicholls "hot-pots", I think that Big Buck’s has a great chance to win today.

However, should there be any chink in the favourite’s armour, I fancy that Sentry Duty might possibly be the one to expose it. He has a good turn of foot, seems to stay at least 2.5 miles (admittedly, this is a step up in trip for him) and always goes well when fresh – plus Nicky Henderson so often seems to come up with the goods at Cheltenham. At his current odds, he might be worth a small each way wager (I don’t bet as a general rule). :)

Big Bucks will travel like he does on soft ground for a long way,but will he still be tanking a long on this much faster ground after the last? No! simple as that!I have

    Tidal Bay

at incredible prices, but i am also confident that others will lay it down today on Bucksy so i have laid the fav at 4/6!
We shall see today, but i am of the opinion Big bucks prefers a bit of cut and can see him rolling around up the hill! 8) Big words from the King!

Previous winners have had Cheltenham experience but not necessarily at the Festival. Personally, I think Festival form tends to be over-backed, so I will go for Time For Rupert and take a chance with Lie Forrit as each way alternatives to the fav. Both seem over-priced to me.

Powerstation was 11 lengths behimd Lie Forrit a while ago giving him a stone and a half, and I’d be amazed if he doesn’t turn the tables. 20/1 without Big Bucks is cracking value.

Good luck Gord but he ran fine at Aintree last year on good ground and giving 10lbs to Mighty Man quickened after the last, also took home nearly every fence when winning on good ground in the Mildmay and still won.

I do think Tidal Bay is the only foreseeable challenger to Big Bucks but it’s still unlikely. Big Bucks is just a freak. Like alot of these championship races I’ll be sat firmly on the fence, but good luck all!

Ignore this season’s form – he’s been chasing, without success. I reckon that’s just been a ploy to distract from today’s event. You’ll see a market move close to the off which is why I think the 33/1 currently available is the bargain of the decade. He ran in some top grade hurdle races last season so expect him to be rejuvenated today. Watch out for the yellow colours and with Paul Townend riding I think Willie Mullins has been saving this one –

Not much chance with my money on..but the Mullins team deserve a bit of luck today. Been a week for disappointing horses making amends this year, so maybe CV can do the same. Surely can’t have turned into a bad horse overnight?

Dire Festival for me so far, NOT living up to moniker, only Sizing Europe did anything to stem the flow, lost around a third of the (substantial) kitty I’d built up over the season, lost some discipline too :(
Mrs CS wants to take another third to pay for our new sash and case windows due to be fitted on Monday so I might be running out of cash by the weekend, makes it worse that she’s in front on The Festival , I should have given her my kitty to play with!!!
WORLD HURDLE…seems obvious, two classy horses both failed as chasers now back to a medium that suits them better, one achieved a OR of 166, the other 153, doesn’t take a lot more thinking about with the 166 chaser at 8-1 and the 153 rated at odds on
My cash is going on TIDAL BAY especially with the ground he loves at one of his favourite racecourses

If Big Buck’s ( my nap of the meeting ) doesn’t win today, I’ll run semi naked down our street, wearing a Rangers top.

Please Ruby, you just have to win.
