‘So I guess the rough will have to be taken with the smooth.’
It’s a good summary Sam.
My morning writing on the forum yesterday caused me to overcook pork steaks for the person I care for – they had 55 mins @ regulo 6 instead of 30 – strangely enough the sauce they were in saved them.
I was also 15 minutes late for the start of the game. The tubes in London were patchy. On the way home I popped into Sainsbury and saw 10 Coors lagers reduced from £7 to £4.69 – that worked out at 89 pence a pint. I enjoyed two cold ones during the game and have given the other eight away as I am teetollaling teetotaller.
It was good to finally beat the German machine in a big one. I think this hurt thing is overdone. Anyway I finished off the suspense by tuning in to the BIRDS and dream acting of Tippi Hedren. I put up with the adverts and lost myself in the Scottish hills as they stood in the 60’s. ALL MAGIC !August 1, 2022 at 11:38 #1609717“For the elite women’s game, the wages will rise, and sponsorship will come in.”
Much depends upon TV rights and other sponsorship deals, as well as attendance figures.
If people don’t go to watch WSL matches at the grounds and nobody tunes in to televised games, not much is going to change.

Following the final whistle, Lineker produced a tongue-in-cheek comment. He wrote: “The @Lionesses have only gone and done it, and Kelly is England’s heroine, bra none.”
The tweet though ruffled a few feathers with some taking exception. Some suggested that it was “most unwise” whilst others accused the Match of the Day host of “casual sexism”. Following that backlash, he revealed that he deleted the tweet as many had missed the context of his comment.

We reached that stage a long time ago. Or at least Twitter did.
August 1, 2022 at 19:07 #1609761As long suffering National Football supporter from north of the
border, I can confirm that from start to finish I shouted on the
English girls and was delighted that they won.A brief moment of joy in a pretty shitty couple of years. Enjoy
the adulation that you get at the moment ladies, it’s so well deserved
August 1, 2022 at 21:07 #1609782I’ve worked with loads of woman over the years. Woman can also be very sexist. Mr Lineker should have helf firm
anyway

Bodega Bay is in California not Scotland although the original short story The Birds was set in Cornwall and written by Daphne Du Maurier.
As for the Coors lagers I bought they were 440ml not 300ml so worked out at 61p a pint.
August 2, 2022 at 08:25 #1609811I think that is not what I meant. I did watch Bagpuss from time to time and have to say I enjoyed it as much as or possibly more than the Magic Roundabout which again I watched very occasionally and it was just before the BBC six o clock news. Bagpuss had a surreal quality and the voice was very good. I did not watch a lot of TV at all around that time. I never said to myself Bagpuss is on I must watch it. I will at some time re-watch and reappraise if that is possible. As I remember it was a shop of lost toys that came to life after dark. That in itself is the basis of a good story. Writing I am not a fan was not the right sentiment- possibly gamble wrote those words – he has a habit of interfering.
… I did read that one of Germany’s best players Popp if I remember correctly had to pull out with a bad foot. That was a lucky break, but many things happen that are unexpected in sport.
August 4, 2022 at 16:31 #1609989Irish members suffering from withdrawal symptoms from all the excitement of the Woman’s Euros and Tour de France Femmes might consider the Kilkenny lady hurlers v Cork in Sunday’s senior final ( Women hurling called Camogie ie. ka-Mogue-ee) at 8/11 with PP (from 10/11 & 5/6) The Kilkenny semi-final standard was far superior in quality to that of Cork. Certainly worth a 1 or maybe 2 pt bet for a bit of entertainment. The gulf in class may well be as wide as that of Kerry and Galway in the recent Gaelic football final.

Chelsea vs man Utd
They are still here and the game continues to expand.
Plenty of finance put into the sport and use made of the premiership structure.
Big crowd today for the fa cup final between Chelsea and man Utd.
The league games played in sensibly sized stadia with big events at the main grounds occasionally well planned and televised.
The huge pull of the sport is the family and all inclusive demographics. Everyone except the moron we saw at Elland Road yesterday has a place here.
Sam kerr to score at anytime 7/4May 15, 2023 at 00:32 #1647902I went to all the Arsenal womens matches at the Emirates stadium this season the Premier league games vs Man u. And Spurs and Chelsea
And the Champions league games to from the heartbroken night in semi final where concede a last minute extra time winner. But was a 60K sellout that night. And enjoy the games this season. - AuthorPosts
