December 14, 2004 at 09:45 #94529The above expressed as %s:
…………………………Ling……..Wolves…….South
chsd/trkd/a.p…………19.4%……18.8%…….43.5%
h.u./in rear/mid/bhd….45.2%……59.4%…….21.7%
m. all/virt all…………..9.7%……..7.8%……..13.0%
ldg trio/2/disp lead……16.1%………0%……….0%
cl up/in tch…………….9.7%……..14.1%……21.7%
I suspect that the absence of "leading trio/duo/disputing lead" at Wolverhampton and Southwell compared with Lingfield is down to different racereading at those courses, underlining how difficult it is to standardise these things.
It’s interesting that Graham Wheldon (a man seemingly obsessed with making generalisations) opposes Cloud Dancer in part because of her running style. If Constable Burton, dropping down a furlong, goes off as quickly as he did last time then I think it may play into her hands.
December 14, 2004 at 10:11 #94530Would not, led,raced 2nd,3rd,4th or joint ldr,joint 2nd,joint 3rd be better
Interesting you mention Cloud Dancer, the beast has got some of the Wallet’s dosh travelling in it’s saddle around the course today

I’m just waiting for Simon Mapletoft—egg on face temporarily obscuring fake tan—to inform us all that it is really difficult to win from behind now.
