Not sure if I’m the only one but looks to me as if this one was given a poor ride. A top class 2 mile hurdler (btn 14l in the Champion Hdl) now running over 12 fur on the AW against 3yo’s just turned 3 (check foaling dates). He was held up and then made a move 3f out and met trouble and then stayed on too late to close the gap to 2¼ lengths at the finish. My question is, why was he not kept up with the pace either making the running or tucked in just behind the leader to use his undoubted stamina against these youngsters? He would surely have won otherwise — I know there are plenty of armchair jockeys around but this looked poor to me and I bet Alan King was less than pleased.
