I agree drugs cheats should be treated the same wherever they come from.
However, when it comes to known recent drug taking Russia is the main culprit.Value Is EverythingFebruary 14, 2022 at 21:54 #1583196Absolutely Tatling, it is far from just Russia at it and probably not the only place where it is ‘systematic’.
February 14, 2022 at 21:54 #1583197I still remember yank sprinter Dennis Mitchell getting off a ban for Testosterone supplements by claiming he had been having lots of sex the night prior to the test.

February 14, 2022 at 22:05 #1583200Of course it is not “just Russia”, Richard; but there is no evidence of it being currently “systematic” anywhere else.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 14, 2022 at 23:02 #1583206I don’t have evidence and I know better than to name names without it but don’t be surprised if it comes out that a major athletics nation has a pretty bad doping problem. This comes from speaking to someone who knows the sport as well as just about anyone here knows racing.
February 14, 2022 at 23:17 #1583207I’m a complete sceptic. Any impressive performance and I immediately wonder if they are ‘juiced’. Cycling, Athletics especially. Boxing getting there. Very sad really.
With all the money in football I’d be amazed if top clubs aren’t systematically pushing the limits, miniumum.

February 14, 2022 at 23:30 #1583208That’s one sad thing about doping, people question the clean athletes. It’s a new level of bad in boxing and other combat sports. Cheat at athletics and at least nobody gets physically hurt, boxing you could literally kill someone.
Back to the Winter Olympics and comments some of us made about the judged sports, controversy in the snowboarding regarding just that:
February 17, 2022 at 08:56 #1583551Good result in the curling. Both British teams into their semi finals.
February 17, 2022 at 09:23 #1583553Yes, particularly pleased for Dodds and Mouat who lost out in the mixed doubles, hopefully they can both help their teams go at least one better but preferably three!
February 17, 2022 at 16:21 #1583586Has the Snowboarding Incursion and/or The Downhill Annexation started yet?

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"February 18, 2022 at 15:17 #1583659Well done to the curling teams! Eve Muirhead and her team really held their nerve well today.
February 18, 2022 at 16:29 #1583675The men’s semi was exciting but the women’s was off the scale. Awful start but kept the pressure up the whole way and handled the pressure when it was put back on. Made the extra end look easy although it clearly wasn’t.
12-11 is a crazy score which surely doesn’t happen much at this level.
Alarms set for 6am!
February 18, 2022 at 16:35 #1583676‘Great Britain have been stripped of the silver medal won in the 4x100m relay at last summer’s Tokyo Olympics after team member CJ Ujah was found to have committed a doping violation.’
Doping isn’t only a Russian problem, maybe they just do it better than anyone else.February 19, 2022 at 10:54 #1583752I take full responsibility for the curling loss, watched on Eurosport as I wasn’t working. Rest of the time it’s been BBC on the laptop.
So close, such a high standard from both sides. They barely put a foot wrong between them.
Get the midnight (or indeed 4am) oil out for later
February 19, 2022 at 16:14 #1583859It was a great effort. No disgrace in losing to the Sewdish team. Their skip, in particular, played a great match.
Let us hope Eve and her team can do even better.
February 20, 2022 at 02:09 #15839473-1 to GB after the 5th end, but they missed a trick in the last end, they
should have been 4-1 up. Japan have the hammer this time.February 20, 2022 at 03:36 #1583948Woohoo
10-3 for the Brits, well done girls, you played
a blinder. Gold medals all round
Goodnight
