Fined 75 euros and no fuss
Far more sensible imo.
October 26, 2011 at 12:26 #374265Thought it was a cracking ride, what was the offence for Eddie?

So for all the thousands of pounds earnt by Buick, is a £65 fine supposed to be a strong enough deterrent to stop him doing it again?
Value Is EverythingOctober 26, 2011 at 12:36 #3742699 strokes instead of 8 tbracing, I’d like to see the race again, I thought the other horse had won a head but Buick’s won a head.
Maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention

It’s not a deterrent Gingertipster, it’s a penalty

There’s a very serious aspect to this. We already know that top Irish/French riders are not going to be visiting these shores with the same regularity.
There is now such a gulf between the French/Irish rules and our current, draconian puritan-fringe nonsense, that it will make UK form
of both horses and jockeys
completely unreliable when they go abroad to ply their trade.
The result will be to isolate our racing to the status of a provincial sideshow, unless something is swiftly done to work towards international standards.

I’d have no objection to the rest of the world falling in to line with our standards.

You remind me of the Catholic Priest, after an ecumenical gig with the local Anglican vicar.
"
After all
", said the vicar, "
we both serve the same God
".
"Yes indeed
", said the Priest. "
You serve God in your way, and I’ll serve Him in His
".
October 26, 2011 at 12:53 #374277The offence got the punishment and the publicity it deserved.
If it had been here it would have been on the nine o’clock news, had people jumping up down shouting for disqualification and all the associated bad publicity for the sport. And all this nonsense has been orchestrated by the BHA, one or two of them there should be charged with bringing racing into disrepute.

Most scary was when I clicked that link, the google ad at the bottom of the video was for the "RSPCA Big Sunday Lunch Oct 30".

The "offence" got a punishment that was no punishment, pointless, it achieved nothing.

You’ve got to laugh at yourself once in a while Pinza.

I don’t think we should bring he who doesn’t exist in to the whip debate.

"Correct challenge of deviation, Mark. Sorry, Pinza! He’s jolly good at this game, isn’t he!
So, Mark, you get the bonus point, and you have 23 seconds left on the clock to tell us something about ‘TRF dust-ups, contretemps and paggas’, starting… now!"

October 26, 2011 at 16:53 #374316I’m beginning to find racing rules and regulations as incomprehensible as the offside rule. Or rugby.
October 26, 2011 at 17:53 #374323well done Eddie , if only we had some common sense over here
Mark before you post a riposte ….nobody is even slightly interested

What a bunch we have running (s/be ruining ) our game
