Please correct me if i’m missing something but wasn’t the horse withdrawn from last weeks Cambridgeshire due to drying ground but ran today on good to firm.
October 5, 2013 at 23:20 #453795Interesting. The non runner distance was about 9f where as the run today was about 7f, would that of had any bearing on it perhaps?

October 5, 2013 at 23:26 #453797This is the trainer quote from the Cambridgeshire.
trainer Brian Ellison expressed doubts about the suitability of quickening ground for his fast-improving gelding earlier this week and after walking the course this morning, he has made the difficult to withdraw from the race.
Ellison said: "I’ve walked the track this morning and it’s going to be very quick.
"The owner wants to look after him, quite rightly, and we don’t want to take any chances on quick ground, especially on a track like this when the ground runs away from you.
"He’ll be put away now and we’ll look forward to next season with him.
"He’s rated 112, so we’ll be looking at Group races."
Charles Darwin to conquer the World
October 6, 2013 at 00:29 #453801Interesting in the fact that Breden who just beat Top Notch Tonto 10th August at Newmarket on the July Course (8f) won today at Newmarket over 10 furlongs on the Rowley Mile Course.
That day Top Notch Tonto was headed by Breden just before the line and I don’t think he would have truly got the 9 furlongs on the Rowley Mile with the stiff uphill finish being essentially a galloping horse.
It was a surprise to see him on the list of runners at Redcar today but the Course is a much easier option and he won his race in good style. I would love to see him run at Goodwood next season. Hope you got on, he’s a beautiful horse to watch both in the paddock and in running.
