Running around on the racecourse at Worcester on the 9th June and nearly getting run down by the horses?
I see this more and more and don’t understand why the racecourse officials don’t throw them out of the grounds. There is plenty of running room on the in-field and no one should be on the racetrack except those officials and staff who are authorised to be there and the horses and jockeys who are participating in a race. Even photographers should stay beind the running rail. It’s both inconsiderate and dangerous. Go do your running elsewhere.
June 11, 2012 at 11:28 #407690Isn’t it usually a jockey warming up?
June 11, 2012 at 14:59 #407716Well, that’s what the commentator said, but even so he shouldn’t be ON the racecourse while races are being run. There’s plenty of empty land inside the course itself he can run on.

June 11, 2012 at 15:54 #407725Still shouldn’t be on the course when a race is being run. I know they ride work and can’t always get to a course to check it out before racing starts, but to be out there while the horses are racing around is not on. This has only been happening in the last year or two so what did they do before then? Guess what the going was like? If they must be on the course at least do it in the intervals between races. There’s a good 15-20 minutes for them to check things out if necessary.
