What a horrible list, but wheres Plunket?
Just about bag of nerves Graham for me.
June 23, 2007 at 11:00 #66180I don’t find any of them annoying.
And I’m actually being serious.
June 23, 2007 at 11:29 #66181This should have been an exciting race, but with Thommo clear and still on the bridle it’s hard to see who’s going to get to him now :(
June 23, 2007 at 13:43 #66182I like Willie Carson. No he isn’t a natural presenter and he doesn’t put things across very well but he is pretty knowledgable and he’s an affable guy.
Worst – Chapman easily. Cannot abide the man.
June 23, 2007 at 14:41 #66184I have the choice not to watch Ch4 or BBC, so I don’t.
When I turn on ATR I always say a little prayer that Matt Carrotman is on a day off.
He gets my fookin goat big time. He makes me switch over the second a race is over so I don’t have to hear him screaming. The greatest arze kisser when interviewing that I have ever had the misfortune to hear.
Apart from Prattman there are a few other gobsh1tes.
Thommo for me comes 2nd with a distance back to the rest. Have ye heard the clip on RUK "here he comes again, it’s PaulHannaganthemanagain" said as one word.
Shocked that zorro didn’t vote for his arch nemisis….really shocked.
June 23, 2007 at 15:06 #66186Three well clear, with Derek Thompson taking the race, just ahead of Willie Carson and John McCririck.
June 23, 2007 at 15:51 #66188How can you tell how I voted Heffo? Can you see inside the booth?:o
June 23, 2007 at 15:55 #66189Thought you were putting up Thommo there zorro.
June 23, 2007 at 16:21 #66190Clare Balding and the way her voice says "You’ve got to watch this and be moved because this is amazing sport" – when a truly amazing piece of sport would in fact render such a comment superfluous.
I am surprised that anyone can truly take a dislike to Thommo, when surely he is at times parodying himself – as is/does McCririck. It’s the Balding’s of the world who actually believe their own publicity that make me want, occassionally, to commit venial acts whilst watching tv.
June 23, 2007 at 16:32 #66191Not so, heffo.
June 23, 2007 at 19:14 #66192McCririck might be parodying himself but he’s also an ignorant git in real life.
From what I hear about Tangoman, he’s a nasty piece of work as well.
June 23, 2007 at 20:54 #66193I think some of you are flattering Carson, no one would deny he was a good jockey but he is hopeless on tv. Not seen him all week but a few examples are him saying the ground would be too soft for the Aussies after the course record had been broken in the previous race. Asking Drowne about his ride in the Wokingham on Thursday when the race was the Britannia and today saying the stewards enquiry in the first could go either way, anyone who had the slightest grasp of rules would have realised the winner had interfered with unplaced horses and was therefore safe as reckless riding was not involved. These aren’t isolated incidents, I’m sorry but the guy is clueless. The only reason i didn’t vote for him is that the BBC show so little racing.
June 23, 2007 at 21:03 #66194For me Carson is great, I have no problems with him atall, maybe he isn’t cut out for TV presenting but that’s not his fault, most of you that are far less knowledgeable than Carson would jump at the chance if you were offered his TV presenting job.
Great jockey great knowledge great man.
:notworthy: Willie Carson

June 23, 2007 at 22:05 #66195Trust the sweaties to stick together.
June 24, 2007 at 01:32 #66196"and Graham Goode goes clear by 2..3..4..5.."
Change Goode’s name in that quote for any horse that happens to go about a length up two furlongs out. I think he must have an eyesight problem.
His commentary irritates the hell out of me and nine times out of ten bears no resemblance to what is actually occuring on the track.
GRRR!
June 24, 2007 at 14:20 #66197I did a stint on racing television about a year and a half ago…. I was never sure what was more terrifying :o , facing the cameras the first time knowing everything was going out live, the thought of swallowing the microphone, making sure I didn’t drop the microphone (as hands were shaking extremely noticeably) or………… reading the various racing forum afterwards.
Thank god that short lived career is now over
June 24, 2007 at 20:04 #66198Lesley Graham. Hand downs.
Thommo… Legend  ;)
