Oh interesting!
side picture,
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak- … 0719_n.jpgJanuary 18, 2011 at 00:26 #336501Thanks – lovely looking horse btw

Was wondering how old she was but if you’ve had her since 2007 then to me at least she doesn’t look that old in the side-on picture, maybe 9 or 10 so she’d have been 6 at most when you got her.
I might be wrong though but that would be my best estimate.
January 18, 2011 at 00:32 #336503Well oddly enough her passport says 14! Jan 1st 1997!
But the people who got the passport made, said that the owners claimed she was 7, thanks for all your help though!January 18, 2011 at 00:35 #336504I’d go with the passport over anything the owners etc. said – they’d be able to charge more for a younger horse in my experience than for a 10yo mare.
January 18, 2011 at 07:22 #336509Lump on front of cannon bone on near hind looks pretty similar to me. Also both horses look like they have very long cannon bones in forelegs and same shaped face?
January 18, 2011 at 07:51 #336510Oh just been looking at Palmridge info on RP and it’s male……
January 18, 2011 at 08:15 #336511I’m pretty sure it’s Pompadour – the Lion fences don’t have the bank going onto the track like that, whereas Pompadour does. It’s not flat enough for Pau.
ETA – apologies, AngloGerman – I was getting Lyon and Lion mixed up – I’ve never been to Lyon, so I can’t comment on that……

Are we sure that’s JPs French colours? I’ve been on the FG site but it’s sooooo slow…..
I might have a clue how the mare came over, and be able to trace her – I need to know all the info about the previous owners though. If you don’t want to put it on here, can you message me?
I’ve seen this same lump before – on a well known JP horse from France now sadly in a scummy situation in Britain. Or was – it might be dead now. I’m guessing it’s been a hurdling injury, or a treatment gone wrong, for something like sore shins…….
January 18, 2011 at 10:06 #336522I’d be pretty sure it’s not a JP horse but I’ve no idea who’s colours they are.
Lyon-Parilly is the course I think Anglo-German refers to, they go up a bank and through a wooded area before exiting down another bank so it could be there.
January 18, 2011 at 10:20 #336524http://www.hippodrome-parilly.com/programme.htm is a list for cards from Lyon Parilly meetings in 2010 – I’ve had a flick through and there are some similar colours but none that would match exactly.
January 18, 2011 at 15:15 #336553I’m certain its a horse belonging to the Macaire stable running in the Al Capone colours,
His website is http://www.guillaumemacaire.com/. there is a gallery, you may see your picture in it
January 18, 2011 at 15:25 #336555Al Capone was owned by Robert Fougedoire who’s colours I linked earlier – they are very similar but the cap is a different colour.
It could be his but it’s and odd cap and normally with 2 or 3 runners from the one owner they just add a sash of white or black.
January 18, 2011 at 20:10 #336595Right, Christian has got back to me, but not only has he confirmed that it’s NOT Palmridge, but he’s actually been speaking to a few other people about it – including a very famous French trainer! And they’ve pretty much all come back with pretty much the same information:
I don’t know who thé horse is, but it looks like a Macaire horse. With Fougedoire silks.
So basically, despite getting the creme de le creme of European trainers involved, we don’t appear to have got much further! At least we can see that I was way off with the McManus silks, however, no-one seems to know where the course is.
January 18, 2011 at 20:21 #336599Getting closer then i suppose, right, i will type up what history we know,
She was in Birmingham in 2007, great eaves farm, but they sold her because the owner didnt pay any bills, when we phoned her up, she said she would be about 10 now, as she was 7 then, but her passport says 1st Jan 1997, so she was sold to market at a very cheap price, a dealer got hold of her, then had a few homes, another dealer, about 2 more homes, then she was found advertised on Horse Mart for £600, she was being sold, because the woman was "loosing her grazing"
I hope this helps, thanks!!
January 18, 2011 at 20:35 #336603Ah, so that’s not the same horse in the photo in France as the horse you have?
Or do you think she’s French bred?
Compulsory chipping for foals registered with Wetherbys came into effect in 1999 or 2000, and I guess it’s the same in France too, so she must be at least 11 or 12. So the 1997 date is probably right.
What kind of passport does she have? Who is the PIO?I assume the owners who didn’t pay the livery had her proper passport?
Poor girl, it’s scary how these horses are passed around from pillar to post once out of racing
January 18, 2011 at 20:38 #336605Our vet said 12! Do you think the pictures have a little in common?
The person who actually owned her didnt turn up for months apparantly, so they must have her real passport, she had a Pet ID one made in 2007, it doesnt hold any info on breeding either:(January 18, 2011 at 20:44 #336606http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak- … 3976_n.jpg that has a similar nose marking of what i can see!
January 18, 2011 at 22:29 #336625What does your vet say about the lump?
I am far from being an expert.
Could it be just an old splint injury?
