"She will tell us when she is ready to race" I believe we have seen the last of Peeping Fawn at the track. Unless she appears at the Breeders Cup in late October it is highly unlikely that she will be at the track again IMO.No reason has been given for her absence which is very unusual.
June 24, 2008 at 14:34 #169943Peeping Fawn, last year’s champion 3YO Filly, will not make her long-awaited seasonal debut in Saturday’s Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh because she is not ready.
The daughter of Danehill, a winner of four Group Ones in 2007, has not run since landing the Yorkshire Oaks last August and plans to bring her to the County Kildare venue on Saturday have been shelved, despite pleasing in a recent workout at Leopardstown.
Trainer Aidan O’Brien has confirmed her absence from the race she won 12 months ago and has indicated that future plans will not be decided until she is ready to return.
"We are just having to wait a bit longer before Peeping Fawn is ready to run. She will tell us and we have nothing definite planned for her just yet," he told the Racing Post.
Peeping Fawn has numerous entries over the summer including the Coral Eclipse Stakes, Princess of Wales’s Stakes, King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes and the Tattersalls Millions Irish Champion Stakes

June 24, 2008 at 15:55 #169950They did the same thing last year with Alexandrova. Kept saying she is working well but not quite ready etc etc until eventually she was retired. I must admit i cant see her coming back either. Shame as i was really looking forward to seeing her. Lets hope it is just a slight delay and she is back racing soon eh!
June 25, 2008 at 14:20 #170055I do not expect her to return. Too much of a top drawer filly to be kept wrapped in cotton wool for so long. The Pretty Polly would’ve been the fitting seasonal debut but it looks like she is bowing out.
June 25, 2008 at 22:08 #170110Did she pick up an injury towards the end of last season and, if so, what was it? I too was really looking forward to seeing her this year and was hoping that she’d run in The Arc.
June 25, 2008 at 22:50 #170116You know what. I get the feeling she is just not sparkling. She might just have had enough.
