Was that really a PaddyPower advert on Hunt Ball’s flanks? We have enough adverts plastered over course and jockeys without adding it to the horses as well!
March 14, 2013 at 17:30 #432738Connections have been called before the stewards to explain the "unauthorised advertisement" on the horse’s back.
March 14, 2013 at 17:38 #432741Bless.
I expect Anthony done a deal with PP to get some money back he done on Hunt Ball in the Gold Cup. It could have been worse he could of had one of those horse burger company’s name on his butt.

I should think so.
Although I find PP’s ambush marketing and other ads pretty amusing this is a step too far.
Horses are a thing of beauty and deserve respect. This one in particular frequently battles his heart out for his owner. I think he deserves better than this and hopefully Mr Knott will agree with that view in the cold light of day.

March 14, 2013 at 19:34 #432762Typical of both the owner and the company, I’m afraid. There are no depths to which either would refuse to sink for a bit of publicity.
March 14, 2013 at 20:12 #432767I shouldn’t think the Bryne Group were very happy either. Their name in small letters on the saddlecloths while a great big white PP is easily visible on the horse itself. Sorry, it’s just not on. It’s bad enough having the big green pair of men’s underwear appearing in the background every time they race around the course. If Paddy Power have any bookies’ stands at the course then they should be banned from the next Festival.
March 14, 2013 at 21:20 #432782Have to say my 3YO son found the giant Y fronts hilarious!
March 15, 2013 at 00:23 #432821I don’t normally keep abreast of bookmaker adverts but I’m making an exception with the Ladbrokes video for Cheltenham.
Clearly, some big boobs have been made with this advert. It features busty Coronation Street and I’m a Celebrity star Helen Flanagan.
A viewing is highly recommended for anyone who is in need of an uplifting experience if their selections have flopped.

April 28, 2013 at 18:07 #437766Such a shame that money raised for a good cause should have so much controversy surrounding it. Couldn’t PP have donated the money wagered on Hunt Ball instead? As a lot of people backed him surely they could have donated the bet money and then paid out winnings, if any, to punters who laid him. That would probably have come to more than £10,000 and would have encouraged more people to back him if they’d known about why PP were offering to do this before the race. Instead it’s tarnished everyone connected and probably embarrassed the D&S Air Ambulance as well.
Doesn’t look like PP will suffer any penalty either.
April 29, 2013 at 14:19 #437858It is now being reported that Keiran Burke has requested that the owner remove Hunt Ball from his stables.
I wonder if Paddy Power is going to reimburse Mr Burke for loss of income, too?

Don’t see why. Is he now claiming he didn’t know anything about it? Obviously it was done with his knowledge so now asking for the horse to be removed seems a bit hyprocritical. Won’t help to assuage the damage done to his rep, that’s for sure.
