Tony Hamilton on Thorkhill Star at Ripon for me.
Although the trainer of course could have had an input, I would best describe the ride as a braindead one. Why would you want to ride a 6/5 fav in a maiden auction in total isolation and on a different side of the track to the rest of the runners? Maybe if you were on a 50/1 no hoper it would be understandable.
Only ended up beaten 12 and a half lengths in a 6 furlong race. The stewards should have at least asked the question, no surprise they didn’t but that’s par for the course isn’t it?
August 17, 2014 at 10:49 #488469Maybe not Saturday but I think the guy on the bike should of got on the inside gave away from to much room out wide.

August 17, 2014 at 11:18 #488473In spite of their win, Ryan Moore on Adelaide at Arlington Park for hitting the horse five times in quick succession without giving him time to respond.
If that was in England, I think he’d be going on holiday.

August 17, 2014 at 23:34 #488501Wasn’t too thrilled to see Mosse drop his hands and lose third place in a photo finish in the Geoffrey Freer tbh.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"August 18, 2014 at 02:26 #488505The second and third in the Arlington Million were the worst rides I have seen by "professional jockeys"in a very long time.

I’d agree with that. Horse never stood a chance.
August 19, 2014 at 17:31 #488593Keep them coming, if the stewards don’t flag them, at least someone is watching and calling bent or incompetent rides. Not all backers are idiots.
August 23, 2014 at 14:54 #489075James Doyle not just a Saturday standout, more a case of one of the worst rides you will ever see.
Could see everything happening in front of him and still did nothing until it was much too late.
It beggars belief that he can hold such a prominent retainer.
August 23, 2014 at 17:11 #489079Not often I agree with Stilvi …this ride was a shocker
Still he is very young and hopefully will learn from it
Good job I dont bet on the flat puppies

Yeah, the horse was ready to go and Richard thought he’d wait another half hour and gave the others all the momentum.
You wont see him in the blue silks ever again after that just ask Gord…..
