Not sarcasm as such, just a play on the use of the word "like". Here’s another example:

I used to work for the emergency services and was once called to a serious car crash on the A11; I found a young lady lying in the road, clearly having been thrown clear of one of the vehicles. She was conscious but covered in blood; unable to ascertain the nature of her injury, I asked her where she was bleeding from, to which she replied:

    "I’m from bleedin’ Romford!"

Wetherby on boxing day is heaving, the world his granny and their aunt mable go.

It can take ages too get out after the last, so ether leave early or be preared too have a coffee for an hour till the traffic dies away.

The atmosphere is good and the action is top notch.

I’ll be there the day after, the 27th, with Mum and Dad Column in tow. Likely to be much quieter?

Boxing Day for myself, and at the risk of being labelled a "soft sootherner" I shall be wearing approximately fifty layers, as every time I have been there in the past it has been absobloodylutely freezing.

Xmas racing for me is Haydock on the 30th.

Always get a big crowd as their is no football on and people want a day in the fresh air.

Wetherby is one of the top jumping tracks in the North and always worth a good day out.

    Hi,

Going back to my hometown of York for Xmas – won’t get to Wetherby (because it’s chaos) but might try to sneek to Catterick on 28th, ah the prospects of a poor selling hurdle……….

I did the Brigadier meet and the evening meet at Wetherby at the beginning of that month.
What a contrast in the weather!

Like you kittoch back home in York for Xmas but won’t be doing me usual trek to Wetherby as I’ll be at Sedgy on Friday to watch Chamerion run.

Grays I do trust that Mr & Mrs Column won’t be in similar attire to their son, mind you if they are at least they’ll stand out!

Boxing Day for me is as far as the telly – same on the 27th. I then watch john Wayne in The Quiet Man on the DVD afterwards.
