Sadly took a fatal fall when challenging at the final hurdle in the 1:30 at Kempton.
Normally ITV handle these things sensitively, but I wasn’t overly impressed that they were immediately laughing and joking about some other topic in the studio when the fall had obviously been a fatal one.

Yes, it was out of character wasn’t it. They didn’t announce it as a fatality straight away, although it was pretty obvious that it was, so I assume they thought the horse was being treated; maybe it happened because they weren’t actually at the track. Having said that ( and I am a great supporter of ITV Racing) it was very insensitive and unprofessional

RUK did acknowledge the sad postscript straight away, unlike ITV.

Horrible to watch it was clear he hadn’t survived that.
