I’d have him down as more of a Hugo Chavez type figure than a Augusto Pinochet ruler, wouldn’t you Dave?

As for the lads…(very poor link!)
Just kidding!
.. I’d rather not comment on that, needless to say the broken bodies of cheeky forumites have been found in fields around the Kelso area ..
October 2, 2009 at 04:36 #251215The site is now quicker than the old one, for me!

Terrific work all concerned.
I’m using IE8 btw.
October 2, 2009 at 08:24 #251223The best thing about TRF has always been its posted content, not the bells and whistles. "The Bar" is a bell and whistle rolled into one and detracts from the forums strongest asset imo.
Also the "Latest Post" info on the board index is still a bit grey on grey and indistinctive.
Good job with the speed.
October 2, 2009 at 10:16 #251224Well this is great
After three days of the screen crashing whenever I tried to click on anything, it seems to be working fine now. Well done all concerned!October 2, 2009 at 11:10 #251228

I’ve read through the whole thread again, and can’t find a single response to our pleas to give the actual messages more column width by ditching/reducing/realigning the oversize end column.
I do hope this doesn’t mean what I think it means?October 2, 2009 at 14:11 #251245Everything is under review Reet – We’ll respond to every point raised but currently a lot to look at.
October 2, 2009 at 15:33 #251255White background to threads is a massive improvement. Getting there, lads.

Personally i would have the Black Watch tartan as a background,it would constantly remind me of how tough you gotta be to wear it!I only got the scarf!

index page between the Board Index page and the main Horse Racing posts page; it only repeats what is on the Board Index itself and is confusing because:
at present when reading Horse Racing posts we are presented with the following menu at the top:
Board Index <
Horse Racing
< Horse Racing
Edit
: similarly there is no need for the intermediate ‘Sports Betting’ ‘Archive Topics’ and ‘Basement’ pages IMO as, again, they just repeat what is on the Board Index
October 2, 2009 at 19:47 #251301Am I missing it or is there no longer a way to identify unread posts?
Also, the "sticky" topics at top…can they not be in a different colour to identify them as stickys?
October 2, 2009 at 21:44 #251315Forum navigation much, much faster on IE now than hitherto – quite possibly on a par with Firefox. Big thumbs up from this parish for all efforts to date!

The little arrow, or ‘broken box’ depending on the acuity of your eyesight, to the left of the thread header indicates unread posts. This, as yet, does not appear on the Board Index page; a concern I aired in an earlier post.
Good to see that ‘mark topics read’ has been re-introduced
You’re getting there chaps
October 2, 2009 at 23:54 #251342Thanks Drone – yes, getting there. We have quite a long list of fixes and are working through them one by one. Thanks for messages of support everyone, on the thread and by pm. Much appreciated.

I’ve got rid of the ‘Horse Racing’ duplication and moved Celebrity Q&A’s out of Archive topics.I’ve left ‘Sprorts Betting’ and Archive Topics’ in as separate headings (including duplication, to just seperate them away from all the other Horse Racing related bits and pieces. Have a look and let me know.
‘Cheltenham 2009’ is now just ‘Cheltenham’ – someone asked for that.

Erm, I think one of us (ie, moi) suggested that several months ago.
Saves you the trouble of doing any archiving, and obsolete threads just drop to the second page.
"They’re under Starter’s Orders . . . and they’re off!"
Just need to stop getting involved in the Champion Hurdle market now.
Edit: edit: Oi, and what has happened to the grey background – that is definitely a pale shade of lilac.
October 3, 2009 at 02:32 #251384Yes Gerald – I recall now. See, we finally get to everything!

Thanks, it certainly looks better for it.
When I logged on earlier, by some quirk in the system the left hand column had gone, and was incorporated in the message column. Don’t know whether this is the way you intend to go, but it definitely looked so much neater. - AuthorPosts
