Ask me early for the win with fortescue ew and I’ll double him up with something else as well.

I’m looking for one to go with The Galloping Bear, and at 16-1, it has to be Truckers Lodge. Every chance at the weights, and I think that he goes very close here.

I like Fortescue and Musical Slave but the best value I see is in the 16/1 EW to 6 places Movethechains. He’s won his last 4, all at Lingfield, though there are enough similarities between Lingfield and Chepstow that it raises no concern for me. They’ve got nowhere near the bottom of him and he only has 10.7. Stamina to prove but, on breeding, has every chance of getting the trip.

Quick Wave has been impressive but it might be worth noting that 4 out of her 5 top Racing Post Ratings in Britain have been at right handed tracks (she has won going the other way).

    Good luck.

2mm rain last 24 hours, 17mm expected next 24 hours, though whether it comes in time for anything that wants it really deep – like Truckers Lodge! – remains to be seen.

Looking at the weather radar seems rain will hit around 11-11.30. Heaviest stuff seems to be around 2-4 oclock, so poss deluge leading up to, and including race time.

    Official going is
GOOD TO SOFT, Good in places

We had some beefy showers yday afternoon and in the night. The rain forecast will soften it up, for sure. I suspect the “Good in places” will soon disappear (by 1 oclock) and i’d imagine most of the “Good to Soft” will vanish, with just a few patches of it remaining by race time.

Top 5 on my figures are:

    161 Wayfinder
    154 Wouldubewell
    153 The Big Dog
    150 The Big Breakaway
    148 Musical Slave

I’ll go with the top two. Slight doubts about both, but that’s covered in prices around the 25/1 mark.

Wayfinder is an out and out course specialist, though the one doubt is that he bled last time. Hopefully it was a one off.

Wouldubewell has been generally progressive. A bit below form on first outing this season but it could be that she’s been aimed at this race. stays well and relishes cut in the ground.

The rain has started here, so probably the same ‘over the bridge’ (15 mins by car from here).

Just added Wayfinder, course specialist. As Rob says bled last time out; hopefully it is sorted.

Fortescue will relish the trip and is still on a competitive mark. Ground shouldn’t be an issue either, so plenty to like.

I like to look at those who have run well in this before and The Two Amigos and Truckers Lodge make appeal off their marks.

    They’ll be my three.

Watching the 1st race; that ground looks softer than the official going, already. Soft by racetime; no doubt.
