She wont mind a bog if it is one. She looks to be improving since the wind op where, yes, you’re right, she didn’t find a lot previously but that looks to have been solved. Age 9 is no problem, age of race winners has varied from 6 up to 13 in the last 10 years. Horses more exposed than her have won it.

Just looked at the entries. I fancy about 30 of them at this stage, looks like a terrific renewal. Loads of progressive types plus others with some great handicap form.

Anyone know why Iwilldoit hasn’t been out since winning it a year ago?

The big dog can’t win 3 big pots in a row can he?

He’s 158 in Ireland, so had the weights been done later for this he’d be in the low 160s with the usual tax

But gets to run off 153 so he’s arguably 10lb well in

Will love the trip (I’d say 3 miles is his absolute minimum trip) and the deeper the ground the better

If the rain comes I’d say he has every chance of a 3 timer

I’d also be interested in escaria ten, pats fancy and at least 5 others

One to wait until the final field and see what the ground is like I think

Chepstow – a few miles from me. Weather forecast for the next week is rain every day OR showers OR Not much rain. Depends which forecast you believe. Met Office one is the driest though.

At the mo i like Escaria Ten, Fortescue and Eva’s Oskar, but no bet yet prob until Xmas day, at the earliest.

Chezza’s waiting to see which horse, if any, a particular jockey is booked to ride, before getting involved further in this race.

Quite a few of the ones I fancied been taken out or had their weights bumped up a lot with royal pagaille taken out so as things stand it will probably just be a decent each way stab at Ask Me Early.

Class horse, targeted at the race 2 years running now and a nice weight.

“Chezza’s waiting to see which horse, if any, a particular jockey is booked to ride, before getting involved further in this race.”

Freddie Gingell rides Truckers Lodge in the race run in memory of his mum.

He’s a talented young man, he’ll be giving it every chance, and I’m sure this has been the plan in Paul Nicholas’s mind all autumn and Freddie partnered the horse in his Haydock Park pipe-opener.

Quick Wave does look a handicap snip, but I think Truckers Lodge could run a big race.

I saw Freddie ride numerous winners in Points and in a 3m6f Chase with give his 7lb claim will be a real weapon.

Absolutely chucking it down here, in South Glos, nr Bristol. Chepstow only a few miles across the bridge, so will be getting the same. Dry day forecast for tom, over there, but rain forecast from midday, for race day.

Thanks, Wilts, that’s useful to know.

The forecast I’m looking at says 10mm expected in the next 24 hours.

My money’s down on Fortescue. Finished strongly up at Haydock the other week on ground, possibly a bit quick for him; will love the ‘juice’ in the ground at Chepstow. The ground wont be as soft as it usually is over there, i suspect, but should suit him all the same.
Best of luck to all :good:

With my sensible head on, it would be The Big Dog for me, but with a run under his belt, I’ll go with Time To Get Up at around 33’s.

Had a long look at The Two Amigos, but for now, just the one.

I’m sticking with Trucker’s Lodge and Freddie Gingell in the race run in memory of his mum.

He rode a cracking winner at Wincanton today.

Erm, Xmas Day fuzzy brain – up at Aintree :good:

Yes, Ian – i backed Trucker’s the other week with Freddie on board. He’s attracted some support today for tomorrow’s race, into 16s with 365, from 25s just a few days ago.

Just bet on my 2nd horse, Emma Lavelle’s Wouldubewell at 25s.

Disappointed at Haydock back in November when favourite, but previous form indicates the 3 miles plus should suit and the softer ground.
Rain still forecast for Chepstow from midday onwards, so would imagine it’ll be soft going.
