Sorry, Mike, I’ve worked in the industry and you clearly haven’t.

Example: Quick Wave is 6/1 with Quinnbet for the Welsh National yet nothing has materially changed since she won at Sandown and they apparently laid 25/1, the same price as she was before she hosed up.

If true, that’s a palpable error by the bookmaker and he can invoke that and void the bet or offer to settle at the general industry offer of 8/1 if he likes and there will be nothing punters can do about it if it’s in his T&Cs.

For me, there’s a simple reason why you declined to say which bookmaker your bet was with – it never happened.

You claim to have had time to both nick the price and come on here bragging about it – stuff of fantasy.

    I can’t take you seriously.

Anyone can come on just after a race and claim they’ve taken a back board ante post price (do you even know what that means?) about an easy winner.

At least hopefully, as a result of you getting caught bang to rights over this one, we will only hear about authentic ante-post bets put up BEFORE key trial races from now on, or the actual price AFTER them.

Ian fair enough about T&Cs, i’ve not had a problem with antepost bets up to now.

The rest of your post is your opinion but my race selections and prices are what they are. I can’t change reality. I will continue to post as per usual with my head held high and concience clear :o)

I’ve given Mike many an eye-roll over his prices and cashouts, and that hasn’t changed.

However, Ian, while you say they “can” payout at a different price, i’ve had many occasion like this one, where prices have been left up, and they are honoured. A certain European boookie never suspended their odds when decs were out with pre-dec prices….all they did was restrict in the end, never not pay.

Depends on the bookie, I guess, Jack.

Maybe some European ones don’t have a palpable error rule, though I would be surprised.

I tend to stick to the firms I have confidence in to pay me out and not go under, taking my balance down with it.

Racebets sent me an email years ago telling me I was restricted to peanuts.
The sort of thing I was able to do with them was back for example Constitution Hill to win the Fighting Fifth and Champion Hurdle in a double the morning before the first race.
Some firms offer doubles on the above but not at full price

Astonishing stuff – most bookies set the software to prevent related-contingency multiples involving the same horse.

Yes, its similar to a football bet on a first scorer and correct score (scorecast)
if only racebets had football markets, I probably wouldn’t be here as a member now but somewhere in Barbados on the beach, Malibu and milk in one hand, chocolate hob nob in the other

There’s really not too much to see here. Mike’s basically looking at Oddschecker and putting up the biggest price that he could see post race. I’ve called him out so many times that I just didn’t see the point anymore.

The impossible cash outs, the edited posts with just a full stop in place of the original losing bet, the complete fabrication of prices. It’s just incessant.

I had to laugh when I read that someone follows him because of the good prices he gets Antepost. Talk about missing the point. Here’s a hint, he doesn’t get those prices. Secondly, why would you follow someone with such a terrible ROI

Anyhows, it may be advisable if admin could delete all these posts, as it’s detracting from the race itself.

I’ve had an ante-post myself. Quick Wave 59-1 ew with 6pls non runner no bet. Free bet as well.

“Here’s a hint, he doesn’t get those prices.”

No need for hints, the selections and prices i put up are real.

I’m happy that some of the sensible folk follow me and my picks on the races, i’ll keep them coming. Let the non believers continue to non believe, life goes on :o)

“the edited posts with just a full stop in place of the original losing bet”

I had always wondered what the random full stops were about

A lot of people contribute to these ante-post folders and it has never once occurred to me to doubt the word of anyone else.

It seems I am not alone.

    Takes all sorts, I suppose.

I see Quick Wave has been raised 9lb for Sandown Park so she’s the proverbial handicap snip at Chepstow.

I just watched the video of Burrough Hill Lad hosing up in 1983 despite John Francome putting up 3lb overweight.

He won as he liked off his still low weight (runner up Royal Judgement was conceding 12lb) and I had to smile at Coral quoting 33/1 for the Cheltenham Gold Cup afterwards.

If it happened today the quote would be half those odds or even shorter.

Though I’m sure Mike would somehow have got 66/1 or whatever they were quoting before the race.

No cash out in those days, though – scarey!

    “Feel free to enlighten me”

You can’t delete posts on here so i replace it with a full stop. No memory or time to go through them all, December 1 is a recent one, Drinmore Chase, after posting I thought it might be better being in the Turners thread so posted the post in there.

Peter Fahey has confirmed that The Big Dog goes here, and he will run with a 4lb penalty for his recent Troytown win, as opposed to the 10lb hike he is due in Ireland. So he could be very well treated.
