Entries not out yet, but priced up by Unibet.
Terrible record in this in last few years, and getting one to even being competitive, hasn’t been easy.
Promised myself not to have an Antepost, but as usual don’t listen, and ended up with Screaming Colours. Not worried about last two runs, and of more significance to me is the reports over the weekend that this is the plan. Interrupted prep last year, but if things go according to plan, I think he’ll go here. Trained already got him spot on for a raid at Uttoxeter.
As per, I’m also looking at the Sandy Thomson yard, and after a difficult 21/22 for me following him, this season has been different. He’s got a lot of well handicapped horses, and the obvious ones for me are Hill Sixteen, Empire Steel, and The Ferry Master.
I’ll maybe have an interest in one one of his at the entry stage, but given recent record in this, perhaps the early bet on Screaming Colours would be more than enough for now.
Screaming Colours 25’s
November 7, 2022 at 14:47 #1622128I’m very keen on The Galloping Bear for Aintree, but as much as I don’t want him to run in this, I think that he will, and also go very close.
I’ll definitely bet him for this if he’s in the entry list
November 9, 2022 at 19:46 #1622406My sentiments entirely Jeff. I see that he was a Non Runner in the big chase at Bangor today.
I’ve taken a chance on former winner, and forum favourite Elegant Escape at 40-1
November 10, 2022 at 10:53 #1622428Hill sixteen screams welsh national to me too. And I fancied the big dog for this last year so was heartwarming to see him win in Ireland a couple of weeks ago.
I told my mrs he was a decent bet at 20’s, didn’t have a penny on and had to listen to her squealing like a cut pig when he got up on the line and she’d had a tenner each way on it! Goodbye cruel world!
November 11, 2022 at 07:20 #1622498Totally with you on screaming colours vtc.
As I mentioned in his last race the other day,
Trainer said he’d missed last year’s race through training setbacks. He’s been pulled up the last two runs and he describes the Welsh national as “unfinished business”. This is the yard’s main objective. Prior to Auteuil has finished placed or fifth the last ten runs.November 11, 2022 at 09:43 #1622506Good man Sam. I’m not buying that run on Sunday at all.
November 13, 2022 at 16:42 #1623035I’m not at all keen on having an ap bet here without the entries being out, but Kitty’s Light is my early fancy for this at 14-1.
At 66-1, and not guaranteed a run at Aintree yet, I’m more likely to have an early bet on Mac Tottie

Trying not to add anything else on this Antepost, as I’ve topped Screaming Colours to 50’s, but some interesting ones in there.
Escaria Ten and Time To Get Up were big hopes for me last season, and they’re both in there.
Escaria Ten looks more interesting for something like The Thyestes, but if he came over I’d take note. Time To Get Up however is one of definitely be interested in. He’s going to be lower in the weights than I ever thought he’d be, and I’m sure he’s got a fair prize in him this year. That 25’s is really tempting.
Royal Pagaille would be a surprise runner, but that mark of 128 looks totally wrong for stablemate Achille, and at 25’s, he looks perfect for this.
I think Gericault Roque is a very good horse, and I’d respect him wherever he went, while the run of Lord Du Mesnil at Bangor really took my eye last week. I can see him having a good season.
No more bets then, which makes sense considering my dire record in this, but certainly a longer shortlist now..
Achille
Gericault Roque
Lord Du Mesnil
Screaming Colours 50’s
Time To Get UpNovember 21, 2022 at 19:19 #1624085The Galloping bear I done antepost today hope he can compensate a big win here to make up for the Haycock national trial which he was striped of by stewards today and disqualified giving the race to Bristol de mai
I’m also on the big dog

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!November 28, 2022 at 16:48 #1625015Definitely an interesting one that Jack.
Time To Get Up an eyecatching entry in The Trial at Chepstow on Saturday, and I’m liking him for this the more I look at him.

December 3, 2022 at 19:45 #1625648Why has mike007 added horse post been reported

December 3, 2022 at 19:56 #1625655I’d hazard a guess it’s because 25/1 was no longer available when he made the posting.
The horse had just hosed up at Sandown Park.
Doesn’t bother me personally, but some people frown on that sort of thing.
