Sad to report that Cheltenham’s season opener this afternoon claimed a life, when the Nigel Twiston-Davies runner Weather Front went badly wrong four flights from home and had to be euthenised.
The Sakhee five-year-old won a junior bumper and four hurdles in a 15-race career spent with Nicky Richards and latterly Twiston-Davies, and he was seeking a hat-trick this afternoon following recent gains at Huntingdon and Stratford.
Condolences to all concerned.
