Importantantly Tommy G jockey reported he was denied a clear run last time out.
Paul Mulrenhan was very confident indeed and switched him off at the back.
Vindobada was almost left in the stalls but for that he’d have won easily and was finishing best of all.
Well executed race plan by Jim Goldie.May 21, 2022 at 16:09 #1598748Haydock

LIL GUFF
(How did that name get through?)
Very closely matched with the non running top weight and can take advantage of his absence. The highest drawn highest weighted runner here

Some nice hurdles form in Ireland including third behind klassy Kay last June.May 23, 2022 at 14:55 #1598970“Jumping the final fence, the winner, The Late Legend (GB), jumped right making contact with Dazzling Glory (IRE) causing the filly to become unbalanced and fall, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of The Late Legend (GB).”
Feasibly still well treated for last win.
Interesting stewards comments about last fence incident above runs off near bottom weight here and has been rated several pounds higher.THE LATE LEGEND

Saver small win on MR MAFIAMay 23, 2022 at 15:18 #1598971The late legend did not do too badly there but the front running ride from Mr Mafia put the race to bed. 16/1 winner
Two fine rides from Paddy Brennan and Sean Bowen in the last two races and the stewards have the cheek to call an enquiry.
Whip was a bit high and held out towards rival otherwise a great ride.Final selection today….

Lines up here on handicap debut after a couple of fine runs in novice company.
He starts off on 120 and is unbeaten over this distance in this discipline.
Brings decent form into this which includes a good run in a maiden hurdle over 17 furlongs and two decent listed bumper runs.
May find it very hard in this new test but holds every Chance and the mark looks fair…..Round up
Accidental Rebel made a fine debut under a front running ride from PADDY BRENNAN @ 9/4 and the good quality of Irish racing Shone through. Mr Mafia rolled back the years under another good ride upfront from SEAN BOWEN to land the biggest priced winner on these pages for over eight days @ 16/1
May 23, 2022 at 15:49 #1598972Another winner in FINEST VIEW @ 6/5
One more selection as there is a course and distance winner who is running off a career low mark in the next race.

COURT ROYALE
Win
Has shown signs of coming back to some form with a couple of placed runs and connections obviously think he can get into the winners enclosure again. Hasn’t won since 2019 here and after four runs here over the course, this is the first run here below the last winning mark. Beaten favourite last time out and good second behind ygrasil two runs back.May 23, 2022 at 20:09 #1599001Windsor
