There is a Grand National being run this year. The Virtual one. The odds are up and profits the bookies make are going to NHS charities.

I’m incredibly bored so gonna use grand national trends to try and pick the winner of this for a laugh

If the computer program is any good they will have used a combination of recent form and recent runnings of the race to come up with the winner

There should hopefully be some strong trends that rule out 30 of the 40 runners hahaha

Since it goes to charity I may even have my first ever virtual bet

I’ve had a go, gone for the Macmanus pair of Any Second Now 10s ew, Kimberlite Candy 16s ew. Think its 5 places across the board.

You’re being limited to £10 per horse but I’ve had 4 bets just for something to cheer on Saturday.

    Win on Tiger Roll
    Ew on Kimberlite Candy
    Ew on Kildisart
    Ew on Ballyoptic

With Ladbrokes on line, Hills also was offering bets, but Paddy’s wasn’t at least I couldn’t see it.

Also in their champion of champions virtual race. Red Rum was at 1/2 and Tiger Roll was 6/4 in a match bet.

Really hoping Rummy comes good there. :good: :bye:

I think it’s a bit much asking Tiger to run two races on the same day

    I’m going ew with
    Burrows Saint
    The Storyteller
    OK Corral
    Saint Xavier

Why have they got Rachael Blackmore on Burrows Saint and Paul Townend on Total Recall? I’m hoping they crunched the numbers and Burrows won, so they’ve put Blackmore on top so that they can have the “first female jockey to win the Grand National” ;-)

I was looking at burrows saint but he is a 7 year old and a horse that young hasn’t won since 1940

If it’s tough on Tiger then image how it’ll feel for Rummy who’s dead and buried at the winning post. ;-)

Personally I’d get 40 multiple win and placed horses like Reynoldstown who won twice in the 1930’s and Manifesto who was placed 6 times including 2 wins in the race.

Hope they all come home safe.

Final Furlong if Burrow Saint does win, then a 7 year old still haven’t won since 1940 as this is a virtual race, not the real thing. I think stats like that can go out the window for this race, and personally even in the real thing if the horse is good enough.

I’ve gone for Bristol De Mai each way..Paddy Power gave me a Power Up to 22/1 but restricted my bet to £3 EW…
Will hunt out a few more but looking forward to watching and knowing all the horses will be safe. Good luck let’s make a mint for the NHS. :yahoo: Jac

I always swore I would never bet on Virtual Racing, but these are strange times and
as the profits go to the NHS I’m happy to have a go. I’ve gone for 2…..

Potters Corner 18/1 (boosted to 20s by PP for £3.30)
He did me well in the Welsh National at 40s (8/1 at the off) and I think he’s
    a national type.

Jury Duty 40/1 (boosted to 45s by PP for £3.30)
I had him last year, and after being badly hampered at the 1st, he managed to get
back in the race and was travelling really well when he unseated at the 18th.

Of course, all that goes for nothing as it’s a bleedin machine that’s going to
    decide how they go
At least the proceeds are going to a just cause :good:

I’ve gone win only on my actual National selections Definitly Red, Walk In The Mill, Kimberlite Candy and Magic Of Light.

It’s no consolation, but it’s something to look forward to and I’ve enjoyed the previous virtual races in the past.

The racing post have had a little fun with their runners analysis too.

Red rum my assumption is that stats like that are programmed into the computer algorithm

If it was just complete pot luck like a normal virtual race I cant see how they would have been as accurate in its predictions as it has (albeit in a small sample size of 3)

It is of course just a fun way to either donate to the NHS or win a few quid off the bookies

That’s about as big a win-win scenario as there gets as far as I’m concerned

    Good luck all

Well, I would have gone for Defintely Red (14/1), Kimberlite Candy (16/1) and Acapella Bourgeois (33/1). So I will give it a go with them.

Just Definitely Red for me. I was going to back him in the real thing so why not on the cartoons as well.

I heard he had a canter at Steepledowns the other day which went well.
