Thunder Rock for me most definitely at 7-2

    Monmiral here for me.

Went off the boil last year for sure, but his early chase runs weren’t bad at all.

Nicholls persevering and and really bar his last run, his novice chase runs were pretty solid.

Trainer is the perfect man for a target on a Saturday.

Opened a new acct with a new bookmaker + they offer 50% price boost so 8/1 which is enough to tempt me in.

This looks a weaker race then the november one. I would have gone for Il Ridoto again, but Harry Cobden riding Monmiral has gone against that. Paul Nicchols seems quite confident.

    Monmiral 5/1

Frero Banbou for me. 17-2 isn’t as big as I had hoped for, but that’ll have to do

I’ve decided to bet Fakir D’Oudairies as well at 11-1

I’m going to take a chance that Lucinda Russell has managed to sort out whatever
the problem was with Do Your Job. He’s a better horse than his recent results and
if she has got hm back to good form then he would be running off a really competative
    mark at 136.

I’m playing Fakir e.w, proper graded horse , I’m also in on the idea Do your job is a big price e.w , at some point he’s going to hit a competitive mark …that might be today

A small ew on Il Ridoto for me. I do like Monmiral and he probably is a graded horse but just wonder whether he has been rushed to be ready for this- a few weeks ago the trainer said he wouldn’t be ready to run till the start of January.

My selection doesn’t have the advantage of Freddie Gingell’s claim but I expect Bryony Frost has schooled him a bit and she has ridden a couple of winners since coming back from her hand injury.

Well done winners , some run and ride from the 2nd , to go at that pace and get up the hill takes some doing

That was cruel on Il Rodoto, who was magnificent to go that pace, I couldn’t believe he would keep going and he actually picked up again after the last and was even pricking his ears about 50 yds from the post.

Greatest advertisement for horse racing you will ever see.

Great tipping, had Il Ridoto and Fugitif both to win and in a reverse FC…….

Cheers, what a race how Il Ridoto kept up the pace was amazing.

I think it helped massively that he was (2nd last aside) very fluent over his fences and meeting them on nice strides and not having to keep going short (thus breaking momentum) and then expending energy having to be chased away from a fence to get back on pace.

When the winner came upsides though…normally the leader folds after going that quick from the start so where he got the energy to go again
