It’s as tough a handicap to fathom out as you get but I like the look
of On A Session. Just looking at the bare figures it might not look so
promising and you’d have to go back a couple of years to find his last
win. That said, he’s been competing in very decent races over in Ireland.
He ran a great race in a Premier Handicap at Galway last back end in 3rd
just over a length behind the winner. He was bought after that and transfered
to David Baron and has run 2 solid races but without raising his handicap mark.
He’s by Noble Mission who is a full brother to Frankel and if there’s anything
passed down that bloodline then it wouldn’t do his chances any harm. I reckon
this will be right up his street.

    On A Session 25/1 6 places Boylesports

I think I won this race 2 or 3 or 4 years ago with a Fahey horse that was about 50/1 that loved soft ground. I’m working right now though so can’t properly look it up!! In case it was this race I’ve picked two that should appreciate the surface – History Writer 40s top 6 ew and Full Authority 40s top 6 ew.

    Best of luck to us!!!

Bit boring but acquitted for me

Think a stiff 7f will suit perfectly

Hope so FF. Seeing him get caught on the line in the Spring Mile is still a bit painful!

This is another famous race at a different venue. It used to be run at Hurst Park, the turf from which was dug up to create Ascot’s NH course.

Remember being on course for this race back in 1969 when it was on the same card as the Heinz Chase. That would have been my second ever course visit.

My top ratings for this race:

    Sunset Breeze 124
    Chiefofchiefs 123
    Acquitted 123

    Karibana 121
    Stone Soldier 121
    Ropey Guest 120

Happy to go top three against the field as I can’t see them being inconvenienced by the conditions.

Ah well, mine had every chance and weren’t good enough and Ropey Guest was nearest of my top 6 in sixth place. I had the winner second bottom on recent form…
