Story in today’s Post about Kayf Aramis and the Beck horses being moved. At first glance it looks harsh but there are always two sides to a story and it is an owner’s right to choose his/her trainer. Anyone know any more details as to why the horses were moved?
September 3, 2009 at 20:55 #246945I see from the Rp database search that Paul Beck owned Botham in unison with Willie McKay. Maybe Willie gave him the idea about moving your horses to a different yard every couple of seasons?

John Spearing did pretty well with Kayf Aramis too, if the truth be told. Life’s rich tapestry etc etc
September 4, 2009 at 22:31 #247143Does it actually not ‘harm’ the horses if moved from what they know, get attached to etc..? Or does the freshness of a new situation freshen, liven them up?
September 4, 2009 at 22:45 #247148It depends which yard they go to and from as to whether it harms them. If they leave a racehorse trainer to go to Peter Grayson, then yes – it harms them. If they leave Peter Grayson to go to a racehorse trainer then no – it revitalises them.
