Interesting group 3 over a mile. Last two winners have gone on to be eventual group 1 winners (Dreamloper, Lady Bowthorpe)
Zanbaq is quite an unappealing price for this right now around 7/4. She ran a good race at Ascot behind Heredia and looks progressive but I still think she has plenty to prove.
Jumbly and Novemba also look short enough around 4’s. The former didn’t get heavily involved in the German 1000 guineas whilst the latter was weak in the finish behind Saffron Beach at the Royal meeting.
The one I’m intrigued by is the stablemate to the current fav and that is Kind Gesture, who Andrea Atzeni now gets legged up on after the owners split with David Egan. She ran well first time out but didn’t look convincing when getting off the mark next time dropped down to 7 furlongs. She then trounced a pretty weak field by 10 lengths last time but she clocked a good time and she could just be coming into herself now. 9/1 looks generous enough for me for a could be anything type in what looks a winnable race.I’d like to know what others think as I haven’t completely got my head round this race.
This isn’t as straightforward as it may seem. Particularly as it is a different course around a bend.
But nonetheless Zanbeq is near top rated for this group three and Novembra is likely going to force the pace if staying in the race on less than ideal going.
Zanbeq was not going to win last time but in staying on behind the classy winner, suggests there is more to come. Snatched up when heredia drifted and Zanbeq almost ran into the hind of heredia. May have reduced the deficit by half a length.
Zanbeq for me going away at the end.
ROMANTIC RIVAL for George Boughey is thrown in at the deep end and unexposed with a nice low Draw, could reward each way interest at a big price.
