Since it’s sadly a nothing Saturday with no jumping bar Navan I thought I’d ask which jockeys do you think aren’t appreciated the way they should be , I’ve said plenty times I’m a huge Sean Bowen fan however I’m start with Graham Lee , still plying his trade on the flat however I reckon he was excellent over jumps , him and Grey Abbey the perfect partnership and he rode a great race in the 2004 GN , timed to perfection , he was also champion jockey one year at Cheltenham , he wasn’t a McCoy but he was/is an excellent horseman

January 21, 2023 at 08:45 #1631724Racing, like so many walks of life, is a game where being thought to be good is almost as important as being good.
It’s also “winner takes all” – only the keenest data-mining analysts look beyond the winner to horses outperforming their market position and who is partnering them.
I tend to keep my idea of under rated jockeys under my hat – once the media latches onto them, the value game is up.

He’s exceptional. Rides all the northern tracks as well as anyone else and I’m absolutely convinced that if he manages to get on one Saturday itv horse who’s running in the big handicaps with a live chance he’ll start to get the opportunities he deserves.
Wins loads of races he has no right to and is finally starting to be rewarded with a decent number of rides from some decent northern stables.
January 23, 2023 at 15:46 #1631953Luca Morgan – 21% strike rate and level stakes profit of more than £30 over fences without being from one of the big yards tells you all you need to know about this kid.
Of the older generation of jocks, I’ve always liked Tom O’Brien. Rarely rides a bad tactical race in my opinion.
