Lay at Ascot(Saturday), Lay for Cheltenham.
Back for Queen Mother at Cheltenham, after 2pm onwards(Saturday) for free bet.
Shouldn’t run at Ascot really(IMO ground all wrong), lets hope he’s not ruined.
January 18, 2008 at 21:40 #136284You must be talking about a different Twist Magic to the one that won on very soft ground at Sandown then

January 18, 2008 at 22:09 #136290I think he’s beatable tomorrow too- Mansony and Shindler’s both love this ground, he may just tolerate it.
January 18, 2008 at 22:18 #136294I agree that the fav is too short, and if there were 8 runners, I would certainly be looking at the race from an each way angle with something like Shindler’s Hunt.
However, I certainly wouldn’t dismiss Twist Magic on account of the ground being soft – I’m confient his class will see him through, though it’s no bet for me.

January 18, 2008 at 22:18 #136295Mike,
I have the ground based TIME as good to soft.
with good ground horses finishing too close for my liking.Carvillshill,
Wasn’t Mansuny banned this week?

I have it that times are irrelevant in jump racing and offer far too many contradictory possibilities. That’s not to dismiss what you have said, I just take no notice of times whatsoever in jump racing – but then again, I’m not a successful punter

That makes two of us then

The RP have the time-based ground as heavy.
Can’t see any problem for Twist Magic myself; might not be at his best on hvy ground, but should still be too classy for these.January 18, 2008 at 23:16 #136310Even though i think his Tingle Creek performance has been over -rated by some, I agree with RH, Twist Magic will be too classy for these and i wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t win by 5 lengths or more
January 18, 2008 at 23:17 #136312I couldn’t back him at the price-I could see Tamarinbleu setting off in front and running the race of his life.Having said that I think its a no bet race.
January 18, 2008 at 23:17 #136313Another PN I think the ground will be against him statement….I love it when he does that……..makes an excuse before every race………one day he might be right but not today………class above this lot as you say Reet……8/11 isn’t so bad….at least it wont be if Jonjo’s does the business as expected in the last at Haydock……fingers crossed
January 19, 2008 at 10:40 #136362If Mansony beats Twist Magic today will it have any bearing on the view of the Gold Cup ?
Scenario would be
Kauto Star beat Voy Per easily last season, Twist Magic beat Voy Per LTO
Mansony beats Twist Magic today
The Listener beat Mansony easily
Denman beat The Listener LTOIf Mansony did beat Twist Magic would it be a plus point for Denman ?
January 19, 2008 at 13:55 #136412Good call Barney, not sure if I’d want to back him for a Champion Chase now though- not the ideal preparation.
January 19, 2008 at 14:00 #136414Looked like a non stayer to me, I would echo your comments, impossible to support for Cheltenham.Looks like Aintree would suit better.
Well called Luke.
January 19, 2008 at 14:04 #136416No excuses for Twist Magic there imo
Another cracking ride by Tom Scudamore
January 19, 2008 at 14:06 #136417Yes, he doesn’t seem to quite get 2 miles in this sort of going. He was going very easily 1/2 a mile out, beter than the winner.

Yep, looked like he was gonna get Pipe horse at one bit, but when it came down to it, he didn’t have enough in locker and Pipe horse just kept galloping all the way
No excuse, beaten by stamina
